Living Arrows 9/52

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” Kahlil Gibran.

Every Monday for the rest of this year I will share with you two photo’s of my children that celebrate their childhood.

Last week was half term for Daisy and my goodness has it gone by quickly. We enjoyed a much slower pace of life last week. I think it was exactly what we all needed especially the children. Our days were nice and relaxed, I let the children choose what they wanted to do and almost every day. Despite the weather being wild (hello Doris) most of the week there were the odd brighter days. The children took full advantage and played in the somewhat soggy garden.

I took a huge step back last week and decided to reassess where and how my time is being spent. I’ve been so busy and stressed lately that it’s starting to affect us as a family. Putting everything to one side to spend quality time with the children has made me realise exactly what I do and don’t want.

Daisy

Daisy has been asking me for ages if she can play in the garden so when I finally said yes she was delighted. We have a large patch of grass in the centre that gets really boggy during the Winter. For a few months it means the garden is out of bounds to little feet.

I also had to explain to her that just because the sun was shining didn’t mean it was Summer. She wanted to wear her summer dress and go outside with no coat on. Hopefully there will be lots of days ahead soon that she can play outside to her heart’s content.

Jake

Can you believe we still have some toys and games from Christmas that haven’t been played with yet ! Jake got this Minion play-doh set from Father Christmas and we finally opened it. He was a little apprehensive at first of the worm like hair but once he realised he could snip it off he was away. He can spend hours squashing, moulding and chopping it really captures his attention and imagination.

  1. Spending time with our little ones is so important . And the best really! It took me a little while to understand that and not being stressed out about silly things! Your little ones are adorable! #LivingArrows

  2. We always need to just slow down during the holidays. It’s lovely to just not have the school run and everything that goes with it. I admit it, I hate playdoh – oh the mess! x

  3. I always find it so amazing that kids have no concept of the temperature and will happily wear a summer dress in the midst of winter – sounds like you all had a much needed week together #LivingArrows
