Frugal, Financial & Home Goals For March 2016

I’m a little late with this post but there are still lots of days left to achieve our monthly goals, February was a very spend heavy month and I did fall off the frugal wagon a few times so I’m determined to get back on track this month.

I look at being frugal as a lifelong learning process and it won’t always be a perfect process, of course, there is always more we could do, but we prefer to take it at our own pace and find what works for us in our own time.

Frugal, Financial&Home Goals (1)

Frugal & Financial Goals

  • Look for things we can sell that we no longer use (didn’t get round to this last month).
  • Pay £50 extra towards our debts.
  • Line dry as much as possible.
  • Celebrate Easter on a budget.
  • Look for free or cheap day’s out.
  • No Takeaways
  • Have 3 no spend days per week.
  • Cancel Sky TV.
  • Cancel Netflix.

Home Goals

  • Start the Spring cleaning process (deep clean each room).
  • Tidy gardens.
  • De-clutter bedroom cupboards.
  • Create a new paperwork filing system.

FrugalMrW and I sit down at the end of each month to discuss our goals for the following month, this, as well as writing these blog posts really help to keep us focussed and on track.

I also have a bullet journal where I list daily, weekly, monthly and yearly goals and tasks.

Do you set yourself goals each month? do you have any tips to help stay organised and on track? leave me a comment below I love hearing from you.

  1. I cancelled Netflix last year, hubby got sky we have a whole package with no extras just the channels it comes with no movies etc it’s his choice his money I thought a now tv box might be better but I dunno! I was doing really well then took kids out and now I’ve been left with £9 until Wednesday sigh…our food shops have all been under £50 which is ideal, I’ve been good at not spending in town until last week when I caved at Costa and the works! Small spends that added up and cost me! I have managed £60 in my savings and desperately wrestling with the cash back sites to my £80 it could take a few months though! Well done on your month, Feb has been pricey!x

    1. We have a chromecast which is pretty good, we have had sky for half price but it’s coming to an end so it’s going.
It’s a hard balancing act isn’t it, you want to treat the kids but the budget doesn’t allow, great news on your food shops though that’s brilliant.
Cash back sites can take an age to clear, hope March is a better month for you x

  2. Have you heard of Konmari? I wrote a blog post about it recently it’s literally the best tidying organisation system I’ve ever come across. It would really help your decluttering out I imagine!
