How To Negotiate Better Deals From Your Service Providers

There is no getting away from the fact that you have to pay bills if you want to live in a house with electricity and gas. However, most people don’t realise it’s possible to negotiate better deals with their suppliers without going through the hassle of using price comparison websites and switching to a different company. You just need to say the right things when you give them a call on the telephone.

 

Highlight your loyalty

Before you do anything else, it makes sense to highlight your loyalty to the company by letting them know how long you’ve been a customer. You can then inform the customer service representative that you’ve never missed a payment. That should encourage them to search through their system and offer the best deal possible.

Identify better deals

Sometimes you have to go a little further to convince the person at the other end of the phone that you’re serious about wanting a better tariff. In that instance, just take a look at some of the other brands and see if you can find a deal that costs less money each month. Highlight that to your provider and demand they beat the price.

Threaten to switch

If all else fails, you should let the company know you plan to leave and ask them to put you through to the correct department. In many situations, the providers will suddenly discover a better deal with more discounts.
