I recently applied for and received a free sample of organic muesli on Alara Cereals Facebook page, I never miss out on breakfast as I’m always ravenous first thing in the morning so I thought I would share with you what I thought of this cereal sample.
I received two 40g sample packs of into the garden-Active Organic Gluten Free Muesli, the pack was a really generous size and I could easily have gotten two servings from one.
I was a little dubious at first as it didn’t look like any Muesli I had ever seen before, the puffed amaranth is so tiny and gives the Muesli an unusual appearance but I wasn’t disappointed with the taste or the texture.
About The Cereal
The cereal itself contains lots of different seeds such as Pumpkin, Sesame & Sunflower, which is fantastic for a seed lover like me.
The Muesli has no hidden nasties to sweeten it, apple is used instead I did wonder if I would have to add some sugar or honey to sweeten but it was fine without.
All the ingredients are organically grown, it contains no artificial preservatives or additives and no GM ingredients.
It is also Gluten free and has been designed for an active lifestyle as it’s high in vitamins and minerals.
The Taste Test
The 40g sample made for a very generous portion, I added some milk to mine but I also think that natural yoghurt would be nice with it too.
The combination of amaranth, seeds and apple was delicious the amaranth has a really mild taste and you get the flavour of each type of seed with a little hint of sweetness from the apple.
My only criticism about this cereal is that I couldn’t spoon all the cereal & seeds out towards the end of the bowl as they are so small.
I’m going to try my next sample with some natural yoghurt.
I would buy this Cereal and I’m also going to try some of the other varieties, have a look at Alara’s website to what other cereals they make.
They are also running a daily giveaway on their Facebook page for a box of ‘Dreamy Oats’.
* I received two free samples of the cereal, all opinions are my own and are 100% honest*
