Alice, Muffins & Laughter #LittleLoves

It’s Friday again and for once I don’t feel like the week has passed by at lightening speed. I’ve had lots of time to relax and indulge in some little loves. Despite the grey days I’m actually feeling pretty good mentally which I’m sure is the result of keeping my vitamin D topped up with supplements.

Here are my little loves for this week.

Read

I’m still making my way through Before I Go To Sleep which I’m thoroughly enjoying. I’m so glad I didn’t watch the film first as I have no idea how it ends. What has made me really happy this week is watching how much enjoyment Daisy gets out of reading too. This week she asked for one of the chapter books from her top bookshelf. I’ve been storing some books up there for when she is old enough to read them. She chose Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland and has had her nose firmly buried in it ever since.

I also really love how quickly she has mastered reading in her head as opposed to out loud. As we sat and read our own books silently this week I couldn’t help but keep glancing up to watch her read.

Watched

We are still busy binge watching Grey’s Anatomy, I absolutely love this show and have definitely been missing out all these years.

I also watched the kids enjoying themselves on the park despite the freezing, frosty morning. They both got a little soggy once the frost started melting so it was hot chocolate all round when we got home.

Heard

While Chris has been busy this week, painting and decorating Jake’s bedroom he’s been listening to comedies and audio books on his headphones. I’ve loved hearing him laugh along oblivious that I’m listening. It can’t help but put you in a good mood when you hear someone else laughing.

Made

Jake came out of nursery one afternoon this week proudly clutching a muffin he had made in class. He was so happy with himself and told me all about the mornings activities. After lunch he was eager to gobble it all up, he didn’t quite manage the whole thing but he gave it a good go.

Wore

I have nothing to add to this section, I’ve lived in comfy clothes and pyjamas this week.

And lastly….

We have absolutely no plans again this weekend so I’m looking forward to just pottering about. On Sunday morning we will probably venture out, I have a few places in mind for a nice walk, weather permitting of course.

  1. I’ve been binge watching Grey’s Anatomy as well lately. I’ve watched it all before except the latest series, but have been indulging and started it all again from the beginning.

  2. Your making me want to re-start Greys! Haha! You can’t beat hot chocolate on a freezing cold day to warm you up! Have a wonderful weekend..Popping over from #LittleLoves

  3. Hot Chocolate – perfect after some fresh air to warm you up. Love that your daughter is enjoying reading, must be lovely to watch. I hate watching the film before reading the book, there are just too many to keep up with though! Enjoy your weekend xx

  4. He did well on the baking well done. I love a good muffin and a cuppa. Great to get out for some fresh air and park fun. It’s always great when you have a child that likes to read. Hope you had a great weekend. #littleloves

  5. Now, you’ve made me want to watch Grey’s all over again (again!!). It’s one of my favourite programmes, especially the earlier seasons.
I know just what you mean about the joy of hearing laughter, it always makes me smile.
Hope you’re having a lovely week! xx
