Old Friends, Church Bells & Play-Doh Teeth Little Loves

The first week of the new year has flown by already and it’s time again to share my little loves. Christmas feels like a distant memory and January is in full swing. We have had a rather relaxed week, the kids went back to school smoothly and I’ve been enjoying the peaceful mornings.  Apart from a leaking kitchen ceiling incident (not serious thank goodness) it’s be a pretty good week.

Here are my little loves for this week.

Read

I finished reading Their Lost Daughters by Joy Ellis on my kindle this week. If you love crime fiction then this is a must read, so many twists and turns.

I’ve just started Before I Go To Sleep by S J Watson and I’m already hooked. I’ve never seen the film but I do plan on watching it once I’ve finished the book. I picked it up at a charity shop last week for the bargain price of 5op.

Watched

Chris and I have been watching a few episodes of Grey’s Anatomy most evenings and we are absolutely loving it. I don’t think I’ve laughed and cried so much in ages.

I’ve also been making my way through Dark on Netflix. This one requires a lot of concentration but it’s totally worth it. It’s a little on the dark side but the story is fascinating and very clever.

Heard

I heard from two of my oldest friends over the new year. We hardly get to see each other nowadays but we always catch up with texts or emails a few times a year. I love those sorts of friendships, years can pass but we pick up right where we left off.

We went for a walk last Sunday round a local dam where we heard the church bells from a nearby church. It’s something we don’t hear that often where we live, there’s something about church bells that really lift the spirits I think.

Made

I’m giving this section to the kids today, they had great fun making teeth with their new Play-Doh Dentist set. I loved watching them play, I always wanted something like this when I was little, not sure about the drill though !

Wore

I found some credit on a H.Samuel gift card that I had forgotten about so I treated myself to a bracelet. I don’t wear a lot of jewellery nowadays but I want to start adding to my collection again. I fell in love with this Love X Infinity silver and rose gold jigsaw bracelet. It’s comfortable to wear and very pretty.

And Lastly….

I’m looking forward to a relaxed weekend. The only plans we have are to watch a family movie and to finally play Pie Face. Daisy got the game for Christmas and has been eager to play it ever since, she might change her mind once she has played I think.
