Perfect Death, Afternoon Tea & Desert Islands #LittleLoves

I took a little break from writing my little loves post last week, after being plagued with a week-long migraine I need some time away from the laptop.

All is back to normal this week thankfully and I’m looking forward to sharing my little loves with you.

Read

I’m deep into reading Perfect Death by Helen Fields and I’m so far, enjoying it. If serial killers and police thrillers are your thing then this is the perfect book for you. This is actually the third book in the DI Callanach series but you don’t need to have read the others to enjoy it.

I finished Paper Towns last week and I thought it was absolutely brilliant. It’s one of those books that you actually miss reading once it’s finished.

While mooching around the internet reading soppy quotes I came across this lovely print from Literary Emporium. I couldn’t resist ordering it for Valentine’s day, I just need a nice frame for it now.

Watched

I binge-watched The End of the F*****g World while laid up in bed with a migraine hangover. It’s such a good show but definitely not for the faint-hearted.

Daisy is obsessed with the film Matilda at the moment which makes my heart extremely happy. It’s my absolute favourite Roald Dahl book and the film version is wonderful. When Daisy is a little older I would love to take her to see the stage show too.

Heard

I’ve started listening to old podcast episodes of Desert Island discs and I’m really enjoying them. I must have been living under a rock to have not discovered the show sooner. So far my favourites have been Tom Hanks, Noel Gallagher and David Tennant.

Made

Pancakes of course! we actually ate them a day early thanks to parents’ evening. The kids wolfed them down with lots of sweeteners, lemon and maple syrup.

Last weekend my cousin and I had a delicious afternoon tea made for us at The Courthouse in Knutsford. As well as enjoying tasty cakes and sandwiches we also marvelled at the decor inside.

Wore

Lots of layers, the weather here in the northwest has been so changeable. Wearing layers is the only way to guarantee I’m prepared for all eventualities.

And lastly….

Next week is half-term for us and I can’t wait. We have no plans at the moment until we know the results of the car MOT at the weekend. This term has seemed really long so I’m looking forward to taking it easy and relaxing.
