Thrones, Creep & Glitter Glue #LittleLoves

After a tough week full of grumpy children and humid weather I am more than ready to focus on my little loves. I’m counting the days down until the summer holidays. We still have a week to go until a break from school runs, early mornings and after-school clubs. I’ve never been one to dread the summer holidays but ask me again 3 weeks in and I might tell a different story.

Read

I’ve had some time this week to indulge in my favourite type of reading, blog reading. A blog post I’ve particularly loved this week is Loving Life and being 40 Plus and why that is OK by Sarah at Extraordinary Chaos. I turn 40 in November and will admit to being more than a little apprehensive. Sarah’s post has inspired me to look at turning 40 differently. I love reading about Sarah’s adventures and she takes beautiful photos too.

Watched

This week little love couldn’t be anything but Game of Thrones. I’m sure I won’t be the only one to have included this fantastic show this week. I must admit though I’m a little sad that I can’t binge-watch it like I did the rest of the series. I really enjoyed the first episode of season 7 and I’m really excited to see where this season will go.

I’m probably the only person who was more excited to see Thomas Turgoose (This is England) make an appearance than Ed Sheeran.

Another show I’ve been loving is In The Dark on BBC One. It’s a new crime drama based on the Mark Billingham novels. I love that it’s based in Manchester too. It’s got just enough twists, turns and suspense to keep me gripped.

Heard

I heard some really good live music at the foodies festival this week. I had forgotten how much I love listening to live music. There was a singer called Laura Townley who performed one of my favourite songs, Radiohead’s Creep. Some of the other singers were fantastic too.

Made

I haven’t really made anything this week so I’m passing this section over to Daisy. We had a much-needed quiet day at home on Saturday. Daisy decided she wanted to get creative, she made lots of beautiful art. She also made lots of glittery, gluey mess as well.

Wore

I finally wore my flamingo print pants. I didn’t get a photo sadly but I’m so glad I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and wore them. We are going to a country fayre on Sunday and weather permitting they may get another outing.

And lastly…

I loved going to the foodies festival on Sunday. Not only did I get some very rare me time I also ate and drank some delicious things. I wrote about my day out at the foodies festival if you fancy a read.

  1. Sorry to hear you’ve had a tough week – hopefully the weekend will bring back happy children. I really need to watch Game of Thrones, it’s all I’ve heard people talk about this week and I feel like I’m missing out! Oo I love a good food festival – any excuse to enjoy good food outside 🙂 #LittleLoves

  2. I think I must be the only person in the world not watching GOT! I tried but just wasn’t my cup of tea, my husband in the other hand loves it! I am on the other hand watching In The Dark, and I’m really enjoying it! I’ve a pair of Flamingo print trousers and I never get out of them! Love them! Hopefully yours get another outing soon! Popping over from #LittleLoves. Have a wonderful weekend xx

  3. I loved GoT, the first episode is always a little slow but packed full of scenes setting up the rest of the series. Can’t wait ffor the next one! I can’t find anything flamingo print I really like – except for a dress which costs a small fortune, although I’m getting more tempted by the day at the mo! Have a great weekend! x

  4. I’ve been listening to the hype for the new GoT season but i must admit i haven’t watched any of it-slap wrist! I love a foodie festival and when you get the chance to go kid free and fully indulge its even better. Have a lovely weekend x

  5. That’s a late break up from school – I thought most of them ended this week – but I’m sure when the school holidays do arrive they’ll be happily welcomed.

A Saturday crafting sounds lovely, and good for you on stepping outside of your comfort zone with the clothes. I hope you and your family are having a lovely weekend.

  6. I’ve never watched GoT! I think I’m one of the only people…sounds like you’re ready for the summer holidays! Enjoy your weekend xx
