The word nice really does sum up this whole week. The kids have been off school for half term and still have another week to go. Chris has been off work this week too. It’s been so nice to spend some much-needed quality family time together.
We decided not to pack too much into this time off together. November is set to be really busy with most weekends taken up with one event or another. This week we have enjoyed a much slower pace and it’s been lovely.
The kids and I have had lots of fun toys and activities to review, it’s been really nice to sit and do this together. We have also spent lots of time playing games, watching movies and reading together too.
On Tuesday we were invited along to Mattel! Play in Liverpool and we had a fantastic time. I love being able to surprise the kids with a fun day out. It was so nice to watch their excited little faces when they realised where we were going.
Later in the week Chris and the kids carved the pumpkins we got from the pick your own farm. I washed the seeds and roasted them for us to have as a snack. I usually burn them but they turned out perfectly this time.
This weekend looks set to be nice too. We are going to see my eldest son at university and then the kids are off for a very rare sleepover. Chris and I are staying home and binge watching the new series of Stranger Things.
I love weeks like these where we can just relax and take life at a slower pace. It feels so good to enjoy the simple things about family life.

It’s so nice to chill sometimes, especially when we have one of the busiest seasons ahead of us! I’m guilty of always burning the pumpkin seeds too.
