Word Of The Week – Treats

I can’t believe it’s time for another Word of the Week already. The week has flown by at lightening speed, it’s been busy and productive. This week has also been full of lovely treats so I thought it appropriate to choose that as my word.

I’ve mentioned this many times before but I enter competitions as a hobby. I have done for almost 16 years now and I’ve won some fantastic prizes and experiences. In fact last year I won one of my biggest prizes to date which I featured in a word of the week post.

This year has been a little slow for prizes arriving but it looks to be picking up again now. Two treats arrived this week thanks to entering competitions. The first was a lovely afternoon tea hamper from Booths and the second a delicious tin of shortbread from Walkers.

I’m in for treat next weekend as I’ve been invited as a VIP to the Foodies Festival at Tatton Park. The Foodies Festival is always a really fun and delicious day out. I can take a plus one so my cousin is coming with me, I’m so happy to be able to treat her too.

I also treated myself to two whole evenings off doing any work earlier this week. I’ve a tendency to pick up the laptop at every spare moment which leaves little time for relaxation. I watched TV and got a few early nights in and felt much better for it.

The kids also got a few treats this week too. A fun game, Yeti in my Spaghetti arrived for them to review. We love playing games together. Now that Jake is old enough to join in properly it’s even more fun.

They also received a huge chocolate cake to test out from Mumsnet. They were looking for testers a few weeks ago to try a new lower sugar children’s cake. The kids were delighted as you can imagine.

All in all it’s been a pretty good week, I just hope that any treats to follow aren’t as calorific !
