Word Of The Week – Changes

This week seems to have flown by and I’m kind of hoping the rest of the month slows down. There’s still lots I want to pack in to the summer holidays. There have also been some changes this week both in home and health.

I had an appointment with my diabetic nurse and the results from a recent blood test were not very good. My blood sugars are at the highest they have ever been which is worrying. The results and some symptoms I’ve been suffering have finally given me the push to make the changes I need to make. I’m starting to make changes one step at a time, and I’m starting to feel better already. I have had a change in dosage of my medication too and it seems to be helping.

Sometimes it’s hard to accept the changes that need to be made. I think I have been a little bit in denial about my diagnosis. I don’t want this disease but I have no choice, what I can choose however is to get it under control.

Another more positive change took place in the living room. There’s fresh paint and wallpaper on the walls and it’s looking so much better. We still have some things to finish off in there but it’s looking good.

I feel like I’m changing too, I don’t know why but the older I get the more confident I seem to become. I was assertive at the dentist on Monday which resulted in them agreeing that what they were offering probably wouldn’t work. In the last month I’ve taken on blogging assignments that have pushed me way out of my comfort zone. When I think back to who I was 10 years ago it doesn’t seem like the same person. I welcome these changes but perhaps not the grey hair that comes along with them !

  1. Lots of changes. It sounds like you’re making positive changes around your own health, and becoming more assertive and stepping out of your comfort zone is always a good thing, I think. Glad the living room’s looking good, the mess was worth it! Thanks for sharing with #WotW x

  2. I agree about the grey hair LOL! seriously though, any changes around health always seem the hardest even though they are the most important but one step at a time is always the best way 🙂

  3. Awwww so glad to hear you are much more confident now with yourself. I think time can be a blessing X #wotw

  4. Good luck with getting the diabetes back under control and glad to hear that you are starting to feel better again. Sounds like things are coming along with the living room. Having more confidence is definitely a positive thing – even if it does come with some unwelcome grey hair too! #WotW
