Word Of The Week – Sorting

The whole of this week has involved lots of sorting out. It started at the weekend when we went shopping for wallpaper and paint. The living room is long overdue a makeover so off to B&Q we went. I hate decorating and anything to do with it. I’m useless at choosing colours and patterns and would be quite happy to paint everything white. I ended going home and ordering the wallpaper online instead.

Next came the kids bedrooms, they were once again in need of sorting. No matter what I do or how much stuff I get rid of their bedrooms remain cluttered. I am convinced that their toys and books are breeding. Daisy is so sentimental about everything she owns, it’s an almost impossible task to sort her room. Never the less sorting did commence. I found myself getting quite stressed at the thought of impending birthdays and Christmas. What on earth I’m going to buy them I do not know. They already have so much.

There have also been appointments to sort out, plans for the summer holidays and play dates to schedule. I’ve also been sorting out switching my mobile phone over to Plusnet. I’m rubbish at switching suppliers and usually leave it to Chris to sort out. I’ve always been worried about losing my number but I got on the phone and sorted it out myself. Isn’t it funny the things we dread doing sometimes are so simple to do.

The sorting out will continue this weekend. There are tip runs and charity shop drops to do, as well as wallpaper stripping.  I’m exhausted just thinking about it, I think I will need to sort myself out a nice bubbly bath as a reward.

  1. That is a lot of sorting, although I do like sorting so it sounds good to me! I know what you mean about the kids’ rooms. My son’s isn’t too bad but my daughter is like yours and wants to hold on to everything! Hope you’re all sorted soon x Thanks for sharing with #WotW

  2. I do love sorting, I managed to sort the kids toy boxes out the other day. Weird thing is, I threw away a black bag of useless and broken toys, but the boxes are still full…how does that happen?
    Good luck with the decorating.

  4. There must be something in the air as we have had a major sort out too and thrown away sooooo much but sadly we are past toys now! The house feels so much more spacious after a clear out, I cant wait for our holidays now and have been planning and shopping for that and a few other things I have planned x

  5. I’ve been doing that too.. must be the time of year for it! mostly clothes in my case but of course when you throw out clothes it means buying new ones.. 😀

  6. Sounds like there has been a lot of sorting for you over the last week. Glad to hear that switching suppliers was more straightforward than anticipated. Hope you managed to get that nice bubbly bath as a reward for all the sorting out you’ve been doing! #WotW
