When I first saw the new Lalaloopsy Potty Surprise doll *advertised on the TV recently I will admit that I rolled my eyes and was a little sceptical. A certain little girl in our house was very excited at the concept of a doll with a potty that actually pooped. Only a 5-year-old could find bodily functions, especially if they involve sparkly shapes entertaining.

Does anyone else’s children watch endless videos on YouTube of pooping dolls? Have you seen how many views they attract? There’s definitely something to be said for toilet humour!

As you can imagine Daisy was over the moon when a Lalaloopsy Potty Surprise doll arrived for her to review. I couldn’t get it out of the box quickly enough for her!

The Lalaloopsy Babies Potty Surprise Jewel Sparkle doll is a new and fun addition to the ‘Sew Cute’ range. Jewel Sparkle magically poops colourful surprise shapes in her potty.

Included in the box are everything you need, the doll, 3 different coloured pots of food, a bowl, a spoon and a very adorable pink potty.

Daisy started by turning the dial on the doll’s back which changes the shape of the surprise. She then spooned the food (which is like a magic sand consistency) into the doll’s mouth. There is a button to twist in place of her belly button and this is the only part that Daisy really needed help with as it’s a little tricky for small hands.

Once Daisy had taken the doll’s nappy off she sat her on the potty. There’s a little button that presses on a ridge of the potty which helps the poop (shape) on its way. Daisy was incredibly excited to find a colourful poop in the potty, her first one was a flower shape. She then spent the best part of an hour feeding the doll and filling the potty with tiny surprises.

There are four surprise shapes, a heart, a flower, a star and a button. You can also mix up the food to create lots of fun colours.

Apart from the fact that this Lalaloopsy doll keeps Daisy and Jake occupied for ages I also love that it doesn’t need any batteries. I also really like that it can be used over and over again.
