Word of the Week – Win

On Wednesday we had planned to meet up with some friends at the park for an afternoon play date, I woke up feeling a little yucky I’ve not been sleeping very well and the heat wasn’t helping. I felt like staying home and if I’m honest the last thing I wanted to be was sociable but I pulled my socks up and went anyway, as we reached the park a bird pooped on me and let me tell you it was that big I thought it might have been a squirrel. Instead of heading home I rolled my sleeves right up and got on with it.

The children had a great time playing with their friends on the park it was a beautiful day and we all know those have been few and far between lately. After having a giggle at my misfortune my friends remarked that it was lucky for a bird to poop on you and that I would win the lottery and you know what they weren’t that far off the mark with what happened next.

Word of the Week (5)

The children and I headed home and Jake took his afternoon nap, I didn’t check my emails until late afternoon and when I did I had the most wonderful surprise awaiting me. I’ve been entering consumer competitions for almost 15 years now it’s a wonderful hobby that has brought me so many wonderful prizes and experiences over the years but what I won on Wednesday blew me away.

Dreams have been running a weekly competition over the summer and I won on week 6 which was £8000 worth of goodies, here’s what I will receive

  1. Bedroom makeover (£4,000 to spend at Dreams)
  2. Samsung 55″ Smart TV
  3. Sonos Playbar Home Cinema Sound Bar
  4. Apple Ipad Air 64GB
  5. Nikon Coolpix bridge camera
  6. Bose® SoundLink™ On-Ear Bluetooth Headphones with Mic/Remote
  7. Michael Kors Handbag
  8. KitchenAid Artisan Cook Processo

I wish you could all have seen my reaction to that email, I’m still in shock and of course delighted and so so grateful to have won.

This weeks word of the week couldn’t be anything but win, I’m linking up as usual with Jocelyn at The Reading Residence .

Look In My Letterbox

I didn’t realise until Tuesday that I hadn’t shared last weeks look in my letterbox. I did get a few nice things in the post so instead of missing a week I’ve combined two weeks into one post.

Last weekend I rekindled my love of comping and I’ve been spending some of my spare time entering for prizes I would really like to win. I’m trying out some different methods and also going back to basics to help me get back into the swing of things again. I have been comping for almost 14 years and I don’t think I will ever give up.

This beautiful book is from the Mumsnet book club. I can’t read it without getting a little teary because the guy who wrote it lost his little boy and wrote the book in his memory.

I won these Aftamath drinks on Instagram, they are giving two cans away every day during August.

How pretty are the colours of these tea samples, they taste delicious too. I think this freebie from Taylors might be my favourite of this year so far.

I never get a huge amount of Tesco clubcard vouchers as we don’t shop their regularly but every little helps as they say.

This awesome neoprene lunchbag from Bibetta arrived for Jake. We have a few picnics planned for the Summer so it arrived at just the right time. Look out for a review coming soon.

This colourful Hartley’s lunch box arrived from Britmums. I will be featuring it soon in a blog post about back to school lunch ideas.

Daisy was very excited when this Minnie Mouse fashion doll arrived for her to review. We have one of the dolls to giveaway so make sure you check out the review and enter for your chance to win.

I’m always looking for things to help us fight some of the symptoms of hayfever so I’m more than happy to review this Serenz allergy relief, so far so good expect a review post soon.

Anybody who follows me on Instagram might have spotted that I regularly post pictures when I find a new fun edition of Carex handwash in the shop. It’s a firm favourite in our house in both the bathroom and the kitchen so I was delighted when Swizzels sent me their Love Hearts collaboration it smells delicious.

This photo does not do this adorable figure justice, I had some fun money to spend so I chose this Rock Candy vinyl collectable I love her colours and the pose she is stood in.

Look In My Letterbox

This week has been nice and steady for post arriving, I’ve had some freebies, one prize and some purchases but I can’t show you those as they are a birthday present so top secret. I’ve been thinking lately about the good old days of comping where nice surprises would arrive every week, I do miss that but I just haven’t had the time I would like to dedicate to entering competitions lately.

This cute little Guerlain freebie arrived from SoPost, the perfume smells lovely.

I got these Johnson’s baby wipes from BzzAgent, I just have to try them and write a review, this is the brand we use for Jake so I already know I like them.

These sample sachets of Kerastase are another SoPost freebie I love trying hair care samples although with having long hair they don’t always go that far.

I cashed out these Argos vouchers from consumer pulse and I’ve already put them to good use buying some Christmas presents.

I think these activity packs from the rspb are brilliant it arrived just in time for the Summer holidays Daisy and I will have fun taking part.

It really was a case of being in the right place at the right time when I won these free meal vouchers from Amy’s kitchen on Twitter, you had to be one of the first five people to retweet and only one other person had, I love their macaroni cheese it’s delicious.

I’m linking up with Alice Megan for Look In My Letterbox.

Have you had anything nice arrive in the post this week ? leave me a comment below I love hearing from you.

Look In My Letterbox

I have a little bit of a mixed bag to show you for this weeks look in my letterbox. I did win a prize this week but it hasn’t arrived yet. I really must try and get back into the swing with competitions I keep dipping in and out just lately.

This delicious freebie from The Good Guru arrived really quickly. I only applied for it at the beginning of the week.

I redeemed two more Argos vouchers from Consumer Pulse. I’m saving them up all year and spend them at Christmas.

Daisy loves it when this freebie Lego magazine pops through the letterbox. Batman is her favourite super hero so she was doubly delighted with it this month.

I love these shampoo and conditioner samples, you can decide if you like the product without wasting money on a full sized product.

I’m reading and reviewing this book from Mumsnet book club. It’s been ages since I read an actual book I usually read on my kindle so I’m really looking forward to diving in it’s pages this weekend.

I’ve been sent this umbrella to review on Amazon. I’m being really selective with the products I get offered to review nowadays but I needed a new umbrella and this one is great as it’s windproof and really good quality.

I’m really happy with this months pop in a box delivery but it will be my last one for a while, I’m cancelling all of my subscription boxes while I concentrate on our savings but i will definitely sign up again in the future.

Real Handful Snacks – Review & Giveaway

I first tried a sample of Real Handful snacks earlier this month at the Blog On MSI conference, I tried Mochaccino and Banoffee mixes which were both delicious so I was delighted when the brand got in touch and asked if I would like to try one of their hand packed ration boxes and an extra one to offer as a prize to one of my lovely readers.

Real Handful are a healthier impulse snack, they come in a variety of flavours and contain a mix of the best quality dried fruits, whole nuts and seeds with added ingredients like natural flavours, chocolate and yoghurt. Not only are they tasty and delicious they are ideal as an on the go snack or an afternoon pick me up when you need a little extra fuel.

The ration box I tried contained the following flavours:

Strawberries & Cream – A Summer time blend of juicy strawberry flavoured raisins, strawberries, cranberries, white chocolate chunks and cashews.

Blood Orange & Dark Chocolate – A fabulous blend of blood orange flavoured sultanas, orange flavoured cranberries, dark chocolate and peanuts.

Blueberry Blitz – A vibrant blend of blueberries, blueberry flavoured cranberries, jumbo flame raisins and whole cashews.

Mixed Berry Crunch – A very berry blend of blueberry yoghurt raisins, strawberries, cranberries and whole Almonds.

My favourite flavour is the Blueberry Blitz the combination of flavours and the chunky cashews taste so delicious, Daisy tried the snacks with me and she loved the Mixed Berry Crunch especially the blueberry yoghurt raisins, we shared a bag as an afternoon snack as the portions are really generous.

I’m really impressed with the quality of the ingredients, everything tasted as described and the dried fruit was so juicy and all the combinations I tried blended so well together.

You can buy Real Handful snacks at Holland & Barrett, Ocado and Harris & Hoole, if you order online from Holland & Barrett and enter the code ‘REALHANDFUL’ at the checkout you can try the snacks for 99p until June 8th.

Webster’s Week In Wins 9th-15th December 2013

Hi Folks

It’s been a bumper week here for freebies & prizes, I’m found my courage again to use coupons(more about that later) and have taken full advantage of O2’s generosity with their Priority Moments.

I will start by telling about some coupons for free products which are around at the moment, some are still available & I will include a link.
Alpro Almond Milk have a coupon for a free carton of their original milk, this is still available but be quick.
Nouvelle had coupons for a free pack of loo roll, sadly they have run out now.
Shaken Udder Milkshake have a coupon for a 3 pack of their cartons of milkshake redeemable at Sainsburys.
A bottle of Just Milk’s new Lactose free milk, these have all gone.

I had a problem at Sainsbury’s with the coupons, they told me they don’t accept printed coupons, a quick call revealed they actually do so it was resolved but very embarrassing non the less.

Above are all the goodies from O2 Priority Moments, Chris & I are both have O2 as our mobile phone providers so we can doubly redeem the goodies.

In the picture above you will see a Chalk Mug, this has come from Love Cravendale they are currently giving away some more mugs with quotes on, enter by the 20th December 2013. Also on their Facebook page they have a daily giveaway, even if you don’t win a prize you get a love heart point which you can use to enter prize draws.

Above are my Chocolate goodies from last week Marks & Spencer Pass The Parcel game on Facebook, what’s better than Free Chocolate !

My other goodies included a Rimmel Mascara, a sample of Special K porridge, a prize from the Stella Magazine promotion which I think should have been full size, a California Raisin goodie bag, a Child’s cinema ticket to see Disney’s new film Frozen and some scent samples from Burberry Brit which is still available.

Happy Freebie Hunting & Be Lucky x
