My word for this week is worried, it also could have been stressful both would sum it up. My cat Mo is 15 years old and hasn’t been too well lately so we took him to see the vet. He doesn’t like going to the vet, what cat does? but I worry even more about stressing him with his age.
I’ve been worried about him for a while but it’s hard to tell with a cat what exactly is wrong. The vet suggested an ultrasound scan and I agreed as I want to finally get to the bottom of it and find out what’s actually wrong. He suggested that it could be one of two things, neither pleasant but one more serious.
On Thursday morning Chris dropped him off at the surgery to be admitted for the day. I spent the whole day worried about him.
Unfortunately, the scan found that it was the more serious thing, so the plan now is to make him as comfortable as possible. He’s quite happy in himself for the time being and isn’t in any pain yet which is good. I’m saving the worrying about making an awful decision for another day.
Just to add more stress to the situation the insurance claim was declined. It’s totally my fault for not understanding the terms of the policy. I spent some time feeling very annoyed at myself but what does that achieve? It’s a costly mistake and one I won’t make again.
There have been some other little stressful moments this week but there have also been lots of lovely positive moments too. We got snow as did most of the north and midlands this week, the kids were very excited. There wasn’t a lot of snowfall but enough for Jake to make a tiny snowman in the garden. It’s been that cold that the snowman is still hanging in there and Jake checks on his progress every day.
I’m definitely ready for the weekend it’s my birthday on Sunday and I’m looking forward to visiting my favourite charity shops. Hopefully, next week will be less worrying and more fun.
Did you get snow this week?
Three of my Word of the Weeker’s with birthdays in the same November week including me… can you make to my party next year! I hope you have a lovely day, I’m having a birthday lunch with my friends on Sunday so now I’ll have to have a drink for you and Kim too. My birthday isn’t until Tuesday, but I don’t have any other plans.
Happy Birthday x
I’m sorry about the insurance, we never like to hear that, and we don’t like to hear bad news about our beloved pets too. My cat is 16 years old and she must have cat dementia. I’ve taken her to the vets but she’s ok apart from bad teeth. I’ve been told it will cost £700 to have them removed and she might not survive the anaesthetic. So it’s the equivalent of cat bonjela……oooh! I’ve just answered the door to the book you sent me…it looks good. Chocolate too, thank you. I haven’t posted yours yet because I’ve been really ill, but I’ve picked one for you. I hope you like it xx
Oh no! Sending love and hugs. I am so sorry the scan results came back with the more serious thing.
I am glad you have had some nice moments and Happy Birthday for tomorrow! I hope you have a wonderful day! xxx
Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear this. I totally understand as we are going through the same with our Staffy boy and it’s heartbreaking. Sending big hugs.
I hope you are having a lovely birthday. xx
So sorry to hear about your cat and about the insurance claim being declined. What a worrying week for you. Glad there have been some nice moments though to balance out the stressful ones. Lovely to make a snowman, even a tiny one, and hope you had a nice birthday. #WotW
