This week didn’t get off to the best of starts, but thankfully, it got better quite quickly. Better is the perfect word for this week.
Over the weekend, Jake hadn’t been very well; he came home on Friday with a migraine and went straight to bed until Saturday morning. Over the weekend, he seemed to improve a little but spent most of Sunday night coughing. On Monday morning, he had a temperature and was absolutely shattered, so we decided no school for him.
I had been awake since the early hours listening to the cat making odd noises. I’ve been really worried about him recently, so as soon as the Vets opened, I made him an appointment. I thought it might have been respiratory, but the vet checked him over and couldn’t find anything obviously wrong. She suggested increasing his medication and just seeing how he gets on. I think I’m just super anxious about knowing when it’s time for him, as I don’t want him to be in any pain.
Monday did end better than it started, though. I went to Jake’s parents’ evening, and it was all good news there. He’s doing really well and is on course for some good SATS results. I took Daisy with me as she wanted to see some of her old teachers, and she had a nice chat with a few of them. That’s the final primary school parents’ evening for me as Jake will be going to high school in September. That blows my mind. I started this blog a year before Jake was born, and now he’s off to high school. Where on earth did that time go?
Chris hasn’t been able to return to work this week due to his back. As the week went on, he started to feel a bit better. He had a doctors appointment and got some stronger medication, and he saw the chiropractor again, which has really helped. Things are improving, albeit slowly.
Jake got better pretty quickly and went back to school. The weather has been beautiful, the cat seems to have improved a little, and everything just feels better. I’m feeling positive about April, it feels like it’s going to be a good month for us.
I’m linking up with Anne from Raisie Bay for Word of the Week.

So nice that all around things are getting better. that cat is gorgeous! It reminds me of one my dad had when we were little. Well done to your kids for doing so well in school. The years certainly seem to rush by sometimes.
Oh no! Poor Jake sorry he was unwell over the weekend and I hope more medication helps your cat.
Leaving primary school is such a big milestone for the kids and us as parents.
I am glad Chris’s back is starting to feel better. x
Sorry that Jake and Chris have been so unwell but it’s good to hear things are getting better. I started blogging when my baby was born (it was originally called Baby Number Five!) He finishes school next year. I have no babies anymore 🙁

I also have a very old cat and I’m not sure how long she has left, it’s so worrying isn’t it. It feel like she’s been around forever and she’s older than my Little Man!
Glad your week got better. Well done to Jake on a good report for his last primary school parents’ evening. It seems crazy that primary school days are nearly over for Jake – it’s the same for Sophie. I started my blog 11 years ago when she was nearly six months old and that time has gone by so quickly in many ways. Glad things are improving for Chris with his back and hope that it is better soon. #WotW
Glad everything got better as the week went on. My two are both at college now and that’s really scary! Time does fly.
