Week 29 of Project 365 was busy but filled with lots of nice moments. I’ve had two visits to the charity shops, watched Jake in his final school production and enjoyed reading again.

Sunday was another scorching hot day, but I needed to get some things done around the house for the new week ahead. Indie was very happy to lie on the couch all day, enjoying the cool breeze from the fans. I got a lot of little things ticked off the to-do list with some pacing and a lot of cold drinks.

I couldn’t resist a quick look around my favourite little charity shop after shopping on Monday evening. All together I paid £5, which I think is a bargain. The cushion is from Next and is like new, and I thought Daisy would love it for her bedroom.
There was some rain and thunder this evening, too, which broke the awful mugginess and made the air feel much cooler.

Tuesday was a whole 10° cooler than the previous few days, what a relief! It was raining when I woke up, but it stopped in time for mine and Indie’s walk. It did rain for most of the day, which the garden was very thankful for.
Daisy was chosen to attend an activity day at the local college, being hosted by Oxford University. She had a great time learning about STEM and eating free ice cream.

On Wednesday afternoon, I went to watch Jake perform in the class production of Ye-Hah!, a comedy western. I was so proud of him as he doesn’t usually volunteer for these things, it’s well beyond his comfort zone. He did brilliantly, considering he had quite a few lines, and it was super hot in the school hall.

I’ve been reading first thing in the morning rather than scrolling, and I’m really enjoying it. This book is good so far. I think I needed a good thriller to get back into reading. I’m also listening to a fantasy book called Nettle & Bone, which is really good too.
Daisy’s report card arrived via email in the afternoon. She’s done brilliantly. I’m glad they include a guide with the results, otherwise I’m not sure I would understand how they are scored.

I spent most of Friday morning pottering around, cleaning and tidying. I’m hoping for a relaxed weekend, so I wanted to get as much done as I could.
I picked up this retro Pepsi Max from Tesco, although I’m not sure I want to class the 90s as retro! I’m a marketer’s dream, slap retro on the label, and I’m buying it. Speaking of retro, Chris and I watched Total Recall in the evening. I could have sworn I had seen it before, but no, I didn’t recognise the storyline at all. Now I’m wondering if there are any other retro movies I thought I had watched but haven’t.

Two charity shop hauls in one week! I went to two local ones on Saturday morning. Daisy was with me, so some of the purchases were inspired by her. I was happy to find some more paper weights to add to my collection and an owl that matches one I already have, but in a different colour. There’s another Ladybird book for my collection, too.
Jake went to stay at his big sister’s for the night, so Daisy and I sat down to do some scrapbooking. I’ve not done anything creative for ages, so I must try and make more time for things like this.

Ahh! To be Indie lying on the couch all day!
All that from the charity shop for £5 is a bargain, you would normally pay more than that just for the cushion.
hahaha! I am the same, I will buy anything retro! I used to love that Total Recall movie, I am sure that’s another one’s they’ve remade over the last 10 years or so. x
Your charity shop hauls and all the videos popping up on my instagram and facebook are making me want to do the charity shops around here. Although I should really get rid rather than buy! Love the cushion though.
