Word Of The Week-Forty

By the time this post goes live on Friday I will be forty. I’m taking the whole weekend off to celebrate surviving forty years of life. There will be shopping sprees, take away’s and spending time with the people I love most in the world. I am also being treated to a surprise on Sunday, I just can’t wait.

I certainly don’t feel forty, I’m not sure I will ever fully grow up but one thing I know for sure is that I’m grateful for every single one of the years of my life. Some years have been tough and others wonderful, none the less I’ve learnt something valuable from each one.

Age truly is just a number, it’s all about mindset and positivity. Of course I get the usual aches and pains as my body ages and lets not mention the silver hair and wrinkles ! I still wake up every day thankful that I have another day to live and love. I know I sound a little flaky but I really do feel that way.

Age has brought me many wonderful things like self-confidence, wisdom and happiness. I can honestly say that I’m now happier and more me than I’ve ever been.

This year I’ve pushed myself way out of my comfort zone in many ways and I intend to keep doing that way into my forties.

Here’s to another decade of endless possibilities and adventures !

You might enjoy my previous word of the week post, Busy.

  4. Happy birthday and hope you had a lovely weekend. I definitely agree with you that age is just a number – there are lots of good things that come with getting older, like self-confidence and wisdom. As much as I’d like to have the energy levels I had at 21, I’m not sure I would want all the self-consciousness that came with that age! #WotW
