I thought I would do a little update post on Jacob and how he’s progressing, it’s been a bit of a blur the last six weeks what with the broken sleep and getting used to life with a newborn again.
Jake had his six week check on Friday, he weighs a hefty 11 pounds 13 ounces which is no surprise as his favourite pastime is guzzling lots of milk at every opportunity.
Over the past week Jake has become much more alert and has been giving us plenty of wide mouthed smiles, I love the adorable little cooing noises he makes, I wonder what he’s trying to tell us.
Jake still has a bottle during the night usually around 2 or 3am, then he’s back up around 6am for another bottle but he does seem to go straight back to sleep afterwards so that’s not too bad.
When we go up to bed we have been putting Jake in his cot as he is getting too big for his Moses basket already, he seems to like the space of his cot and has a good wriggle, it’s amazing how far babies can move themselves around.
I have just passed all Jakes first size clothes on to my daughter, it’s madness how quickly they outgrow clothes at this stage, I can’t keep up.
I’m not sure if it’s my age but having two little ones seems a lot harder this time around but we are slowly getting in to some sort of a routine, depending on how much sleep I’ve had of course !
Daisy is so gentle with Jake although she’s not sure about sharing her blankies (blankets) with him.
Leave me a comment if you want to share your experience of having a newborn and a toddler, how do you deal with the tiredness?, any tips welcome.
