Living Arrows 13/52 {2018}

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” Kahlil Gibran.

Every Monday for the rest of this year I will share with you two photo’s of my children that celebrate their childhood.

Daisy

Daisy has been little Miss independent lately. She chooses what to wear, what to eat for breakfast and what to read. The only problem with this new-found independence is the attitude that comes with it. Somewhere along the way we seem to have lost a few years and somehow gained a stroppy teen. Honestly if I hear the words ‘that’s not fair’ one more time I might have a tantrum myself ! Joking aside, I love that she’s making in her own choices.

Jake

Jake was at the top of a slide when I took this photo. We were visiting my biggest boy at university and it served as a timely reminder for me of how fast kids grow up. I wonder how my biggest boy got to 18 so fast and I wonder if Jake will get there just as quickly. I’m thankful for the experience though, it’s given me a lot more patience as a parent.

Jake went to his first party without us at the weekend. I of course worried the whole time he was there but he had an absolute whale of a time. That’s always been the hardest part of parenting for me, letting go of their hand when they are ready to.
