Pregnancy Diary – 36 Weeks

I’m finally on the home stretch and almost there, I have my final growth scan and appointment on Wednesday where I will be given a date for my c-section, although I can’t wait to know the date I am quite nervous too, I have all sorts of scenarios running through my mind at the moment, it’s hard to switch off.

Pregnancy and Baby Update

I got a little bit excited and hopeful earlier this week when I started having regular pains that I could time apart but sadly they have trailed off into nothing. I have thought about really going for it and following all those old wives’ tales about getting labour started so I can avoid the c-section but in honesty, I just don’t have the energy.

This last week has seen my blood sugar levels soar despite upping my doses of Insulin. The new nurse I have took four days to get back to me so it’s lucky I know how to adjust the doses myself but it’s a daily frustrating battle one that I know I’m not going to win with just a couple of weeks to go.

Although my emotions haven’t been too up and down over the last few weeks I have had a couple of teary moments in the last few days, I just feel so uncomfortable and doing the simplest of tasks like washing up sees me having to sit down afterwards, being able to sit in the garden this week has helped a little.

The baby is his usual wriggly self and I just can’t wait to meet him now, I won’t miss the hiccups he gets about three times a day, it’s a very strange sensation indeed.

Bits and Bobs

Not much to say this week, I’ve bought the last of the essentials such as baby milk, bubble bath, maternity pads etc. I feel a little more prepared.

I’m being brave and posting this picture below, I’m absolutely huge and don’t look particularly great but I wanted photos of my body in pregnancy this time as I barely have any photos of me in my previous three pregnancies.

All being well I will be back next week with another update and hopefully some news on a date for my c-section.

Thanks for reading. Please feel free to leave a comment below, I love hearing from you.
