Imagination, Wellies & Criminal Minds #LittleLoves

Despite waking up midweek with a scratchy sore throat and stuffy nose it’s been a pretty good week. I’ve been taking lots of time out for myself lately and it’s working wonders. I can’t remember the last time I felt this relaxed. Indulging in little loves is definitely the way to go if you want to beat the January blues.

Here are my little loves for this week.

Read

I finally finished Before I Go To Sleep and wow, what a book. I didn’t guess how the book was going to end and it kept me gripped right until the end.

I’ve just started reading Friend Request by Laura Marshall and I’m hooked already.

Watched

When I work I like to have a show on in the background, I can’t work in silence. I decided to give Criminal Minds a go and I’m loving it. There are so many seasons available on Amazon Prime that it will keep me going for ages. I love that it’s a real mixture of criminal investigations in each episode.

We are of course still making our way through Grey’s Anatomy too and still absolutely loving it.

Heard

This week I have loved the little conversations I’ve had with Jake. He has such a fantastic imagination, I love hearing about his imaginary adventures. This week he is Batman, who drives to the shop to buy us some lunch.

Daisy also has an amazing imagination but I’ve noticed it’s being shaped much more by the things she is learning at school. Some of the questions she’s asked this week have required a quick visit to Google for the answer.

Made

I’ve been busy making some extra money this week, I tried mystery shopping and a market research interview by Skype. Both were things I had been reluctant to do but found really enjoyable.

Wore

I bought Jake some new wellies last week and they arrived just in time for the downpours this week. He absolutely loves them as they feature his favourite things, robots and spaceships.

And lastly….

Work starts on Daisy’s bedroom this weekend and she is more than a little excited. She’s chosen the colour, the curtains and all the accessories herself. I can’t wait to see her happy face when it’s finished. While Chris is busy painting I will be entertaining the kids. I’m planning to let them bake some muffins and choose a game for us all to play. I’m loving the more relaxed weekends we have been enjoying lately.
