Word of the Week – Peaky

This week’s word of the week is peaky, I really wanted to use ‘under the weather’ but that’s more than one word I’ve chosen peaky instead. I think all the activity and busyness of the last few weeks has finally caught up with me and I’ve spent the week feeling pretty rotten.

word-of-the-weekUsually, when I feel like this I push against it and try and carry on as usual which makes me feel even worse for longer but this time I decided to listen to my body put my to-do list to one side and take it easy. I’ve done only the essentials around the house, rested when I’ve needed to had some very early nights and even treated myself to a soak in the bath by orders of Chris.

I must admit that there is a niggling anxious little voice at the back of my mind reminding me of all the things that I’m behind with but the louder voice is telling me that those things will still be there tomorrow and to take care of myself for now and for once I’m listening to it.

Do you find it hard to slow down when you are feeling under the weather? leave me a comment I love hearing from you.

I’m linking up with Jocelyn from The Reading Residence for Word of the Week.

  1. awww, your right things can wait until yuour better and more then liker a lot easier & quicker to complete when in a better frame of mind. Hope you get some rest and get better soon X #wotw

  2. Oh, I do, but like you, I know that it’s the right thing to do and does help you recuperate faster. I do hope you’re feeling brighter soon and have a better week next week x Thanks for sharing with #WotW

  3. It’s definitely difficult to be poorly when one has little ones, isn’t it? No matter how under the weather we feel, we sort of just get on with it, after all, if we didn’t, who will take care of the kids? Hope you’re feeling better now. #wotw

  4. It’s good that you are listening to your body. Everything else will (mostly) wait. Far better to recover and then tackle it than plough ahead. I always make mistakes if I try to plough on. Hope you are feeling better soon. #wotw

  5. It’s never easy to just stop is it? But it really does pay dividends in all areas when we do stop, just for a second mind you 😉 #wotw

  6. Oh, it’s that time of year when there are so many bugs around, but it is difficult to slow down even when you’re feeling peaky because the little ones don’t stop do they?! I’m like you I normally try and push thru and feel dreadful and am grumpy. Take the time out and hope you feel better soon
