I’ve lost count of the number of times that I’ve used productively as my word of the week, it is a great word though. For the past two weeks I’ve been working up at my desk (inspired by Emma from Sunshine and Rain), trying to make a clear definition between working hours and downtime, it’s working really well. So much so that I’ve been more productive this week than I had been in the whole of January!
I love being organised that’s no secret, but I also get behind just like everyone else. My spreadsheets have been neglected since Christmas and my to-do list of admin jobs had been gathering dust. This week I’ve cracked on with it and although I’ve still a way to go I have made a good dent.
This year I’ve decided to take a different direction with my blog, I’m working more on my own content and less on unpaid reviews. I have so many posts that do really well on Pinterest and I’ve realised that my time is better spent on working on those. Just by making this decision, I’ve seen my productivity and enthusiasm for blogging increase. This year will be my 6th blogging and I have a feeling it’s going to be my best year yet.
Joining back in with linkies, updating and refreshing my old content and working on new content has given me the spark back that I felt I lost a little last year. I think sometimes you get stuck in a rut with blogging, trying to keep up with everyone else not to mention all the social media platforms can be exhausting. Sometimes you have to think outside the box, take a chance and go in a different direction.
Being productive this week has been great for my mental health too, I always feel much better and brighter when I get lots done. I did compromise with myself on Wednesday when I didn’t feel well though, I spent the morning dozing and reading before doing some work in the afternoon instead.
All in all it’s been a pretty good week, I’m hoping for a nice relaxing weekend with lots of family time and perhaps a little reading.
You might enjoy my previous word of the week post, Family.
I would love a productive week. With having my fella off work I don’t seem to have got much done. lol
It sounds like you have really found your groove with blogging. Good luck and long may it continue. #WotW
Thanks Kim, I’m the same when Chris is off work x
I like the way you are taking the lead with your blogging, rather than be lead by whatever is sent to you for review. A while back I decided only to take the review opportunities that I was really interested in and enjoy the writing instead. It works for me. Productivity certainly seems to help you. I’m glad you are finding your rhythm again. Hope you have a good week. #wotw
Thanks Cheryl x
You do sound productive and you know where you want to go. All the best with your goals X #wotw
Thanks Sam I always feel better when I have a direction to go in.
Well done on being productive, it does make you feel good. I am still waiting for my desk (I’ve chosen one a little more expensive than I can afford right now) I’m a little worried that my husband is going to take my space as he’s planning on putting his guitar stand there! Thanks for joining in with #wotw xx
I hope you can get your desk soon Anne, it makes such a difference to work from one.
Productive weeks are always nice. So glad that focusing more on your own content is helping bring back the joy in blogging. It is easy to get stuck in a bit of a rut after a while. Hope that this year will be a good one for your on the blogging front 🙂 #WotW
