Every Friday I share five frugal things that I’ve done to save or make money. I believe that a frugal lifestyle is an individual thing and there is no right or wrong way of going about it. From the smallest of savings to the greatest it all adds up and contributes to us living the life that we want for less.
Five Frugal Things
1 ) I had some nice competition wins this week, a dessert platter from a local store, £100 to spend at M&Co and some nice gardening things. Entering competitions is such a fun and lucrative hobby and definitely helps to give us extra treats without spending any money.
2) I batch-cooked a few meals making full use of heating the oven, this also avoided any food waste as I used up all the fresh ingredients I had bought.
3) I picked up some fantastic bargains at the charity shops this week. I paid just under £20 for all of the things in the picture including a Harry Potter Lego game that the kids love. There is a brand new pair of PE jogging pants and a gorgeous Debenhams lounge suit included too.
4) There have been plans made for the summer holidays including setting up a sinking fund so we can afford some treats and days out. Most of the activities we do will be free or super cheap.
5) I’ve been making sure that I scan every receipt into the apps I use like Shoppix and SnapMyEats. I was able to cash out some Amazon vouchers, I’m going to save up enough to buy a whole week’s worth of groceries so this was a good start.
