Of course, this week’s word had to be Christmas. It’s felt really strange having Christmas Day fall in the middle of the week. I’m totally lost on what day I’m up to and nearly forgot to write this post and put the bins out on the right day.
It’s been a really nice week, we always have a quiet Christmas and as a homebody that’s perfect for me.
On Monday we had our Christmas dinner, we very often don’t have it on the actual day itself. It was delicious and the kids who normally won’t eat a roast meal actually ended up eating it.
On Christmas Eve we went to the cinema to see Moana 2. It’s become a tradition for us to go to the cinema, it helps us to pass the time and is something nice to do as a family. In the evening we had our favourite takeaway and then went for a drive around our town to look at all the beautiful lights and decorations. I challenged the kids to look for certain things like a snowman or a candy cane. They really enjoyed that so I think we will be doing that again next year.
Christmas day was lovely, presents were opened, Lego was built, games were played and lots of delicious food was consumed. I bought a new game called What Do You Meme? family edition and it was so much fun to play. There was a lot of laughter, I do love a good Meme.
On Boxing Day we had a quick visit to town. It’s not something I would normally do but the kids really wanted to spend their Christmas money. The shop they wanted to go to was closed so Daisy just got some books from Waterstones then we went home. It was fairly busy in town but there weren’t that many shops open which I found surprising.
The rest of the day we spent relaxing, watching TV and eating some delicious food again.
We’ve had a lovely peaceful week, spending lots of time together which is what matters to me the most. Now I’m ready for the big sort-out and clean-up before the new year. It’s also time to make plans for next year, getting organised is my favourite thing to do.
I hope you have all had a nice week whether you celebrated Christmas or not.
I’m linking up with Anne from Raisie Bay for Word Of The Week.
My word is Christmas too, well it will be when my post goes live tomorrow. hehehe
We almost forgot about the bins too and every day has felt like a Saturday or Sunday.
I saw on social media that so many people went to the cinema on Christmas eve, I didn’t even know that was a thing.
It sounds like you have all had a lovely time over Christmas.
We have been in town today, my youngest was the same, she had to spend her Christmas money. xxx
They changed our bin day to Monday from Friday…I don’t know why! But my bin is overflowing. I’m glad you had a nice Christmas. I used to drive my older kids around looking at the lights and decorations. The younger ones didn’t seem interested though when it was their turn. This year our close has been really decorated well so no need to go far. We had a nice quiet Christmas day which was fine because Christmas eve was a nightmare. Just one more week of this madness to get through. Thanks for taking the time to join in x
Sounds like you had a lovely Christmas. A Christmas Eve cinema trip sounds like a lovely idea. That game looks like a lot of fun. Happy new year to you and your family. #WotW
