Project 365-Week 8

It’s been a half-term week for us this week and although we have had to change some of our plans due to a broken clutch it’s been a really nice week.

On Monday morning my eldest daughter and I went to a lovely village close to where she lives to visit some charity shops. There were so many to choose from and we soon had bags full of treasures and books. We made a pit stop at a lovely converted railway station for a coffee and a cake. This Bakewell slice was the perfect fuel for us before we continued our shopping trip.

Tuesday was a day for getting lots of little jobs done around the house. I had received one of those boxes with free samples in to try so I spent some time photographing all the products so I could enter the competitions that were included. We all tried these crispy strips with our lunch, they were nice and crunchy.

Wednesday was another day of pottering around the house getting things done. I took Indie on an early morning walk, it was so cold and drizzly. I’m not always able to take her, it depends on my energy levels and fatigue so I appreciate the times when I can no matter the weather.

The car was repaired on Thursday so we could finally get out and about again. We went to the pub and had a delicious meal. This is a photo of me taking a photo of Daisy taking a photo of her food, it really made me chuckle.

On Friday morning I visited my friend and she took me to the charity shops in the area where she lives. We had a brilliant time and as you can see in the photo above I bought lots. I found so many books from my wish list and some Ladybird books to add to my collection. My lovely friend treated me to coffee and cake, this time I chose a Bakewell Tart, which was delicious.

Saturday morning felt like spring had arrived; it was so warm and bright. We went to the forest, which has a lovely spring running all the way through it. The kids and Indie all enjoyed a paddle. It was so lovely to feel the sun on our faces, more of that, please.

In the afternoon I had my haircut, I had a lot of length taken off and it feels so much better. I’ve always had really long hair but it’s becoming unmanageable for me now so a good cut was needed.

Sunday is a day for pottering and getting things you’ve been meaning to do for ages done. Chris put these pictures up for me all of them except one have come from charity shops. Daisy painted the Bats canvas a couple of years ago and I love it.

  1. You get some good shopping hauls from charity shops. I rarely find anything, but really should go in more regularly. The odd book for N, but that’s it really. Nice to get out and treat yourself to some cake and see your friend.

  2. Yum! That Bakewell slice looks so good and the pub meal too.
Ohh! It does look like you had a great time at the charity shops. I had that Black Beauty book when I was a kid. x

  3. Oh, I love your charity haul! I really need to go for a nosey around some charity shops when we get back from our week away.
Love your picture display and the canvas that Daisy did.
Also glad that you managed to go for a nice walk while you felt up to it. Have a lovely week. xx

  4. That Bakewell slice looks delicious. Your charity shop is impressive, and your Ladybird books collection is growing nicely.
The art collection is quirky and strange (in a nice way, I do like strange).
When you mentioned the clutch, I first thought about a bag, then realised what you meant. 🙂
I’ve seen these Mr Porky photos around on Insta, but don’t know about the competition. Good luck!

  5. Glad you enjoyed your visit to the charity shops with your daughter. Sorry to hear that the broken clutch meant having to change plans but glad it got fixed and you were able to get out and about again. That’s quite a haul from your charity shop visit with your friend! How nice for the kids to have a paddle in the spring. Love Daisy’s bats canvas. #project365
