I’ve been having quite a low-energy week, as can often be the norm with ulcerative colitis and ME/CFS. Rest is the perfect word for this week’s word of the week, as I’ve had lots of it.
I used to be terrible at accepting when I needed to rest, but now I’m very good at listening to my body and doing what it needs. I will forever be grateful that I have the opportunity to rest when I need to.
On the subject of rest or lack of it, Chris’s eldest son and his partner welcomed a baby boy on Monday morning. I don’t think they will be getting much rest for the foreseeable future, but I’m sure they won’t mind too much. We now have another Grandson to love and spoil, which is just wonderful.
While resting, I’ve been watching some TV shows and movies and reading lots. I watched the film Heretic and absolutely loved it. Hugh Grant’s character is unhinged, he is fantastic in it. I also watched all the episodes of Dope Girls on BBC iPlayer. I really liked it and hope there will be another season.
It’s taking me a while to get through the book I’m reading; it’s not a page-turner, but it’s readable. I am, however, really enjoying the audiobook I’m listening to. It’s called The Ones That Got Away by horror writer Stephen Graham Jones. It’s a collection of very unnerving short stories.
Other things I’ve enjoyed this week are eating pancakes, blue skies, and lots of time chatting with the kids and Chris.
This weekend will be restful one with nothing planned at all, although if I do have the energy I would like to clean some of the windows.
I’m linking up as usual with Anne from Raisie Bay for Word of the Week.
I am glad you have had some rest, you have to listen to your body and what it needs.
Congratulations! How exciting to have another Grandson.
You deserve to take time out to rest sometimes. I am glad for you that you can afford to take a break when you need to. Congrats on the new grandbaby. Such delightful news! Your pancake looks nice. I’m not a fan but sometimes I’ll taste 1. My sister made a total of 4 on pancake day and they were all had by my niece who loves them.
Good for you for listening to your body! And congrats on the new addition to your family!
Glad you managed to get some rest. Sometimes we just have to take some time out, especially with your UC and ME/CFS.
A huge congrats on your new grandson! How exciting.
Have a lovely week. 🙂 xx
Oh rest! a word I know well. I’ve decided to write a list of things that need doing and getting them done a little at a time. With lots of rest in between. I’m sorry you’ve not felt so good but glad you’ve had chance to rest. Welcome to the world your new grandchild.
Congratulations on the arrival of your new grandchild 🙂 Rest is so important and we all know it.. but we never seem to do it so good on you for doing the right thing for you.
Sorry to hear that you’ve had a low-energy week but glad you are able to listen to your body and rest when you need to. Congratulations on your new grandson. #WotW
