Five Frugal Things I’ve Done This Week {10.6.22}

Every Friday I share five frugal things that I’ve done to save or make money. I believe that a frugal lifestyle is an individual thing and there is no right or wrong way of going about it. From the smallest of savings to the greatest it all adds up and contributes to us living the life that we want for less.

I took a longer break than I had intended from the weekly frugal things posts, time has an unruly habit of getting away from you. I had planned to start writing them again when I had a lovely comment from a reader which gave me the push I needed to get back to it, so thank you!

Five Frugal Things

1) As always I have been on a mission to avoid food waste so this week I’ve been eating leftovers for my lunches. This Chilli I ate for lunch was made using minced beef from a free Gousto recipe box that arrived a few months ago. It might be my imagination but free food always tastes that extra bit delicious.

2) I’m slowly getting back into exercise and wanted some clothes that were suitable for it. After looking at the prices of workout clothes I turned to my favourite second-hand app, Vinted. I found 5 items of workout clothing for a bargain price.

3) Lots of market research projects have been applied for this week. At the moment I’m testing out an appliance and will be compensated for giving an opinion too. There was also a quick market research video response which was very interesting and payment was made straight away.

4) Monzo is a bank account I’ve been looking at for a while the saving pot feature was really appealing. Opening the account was really quick and easy. Using a referral link for £5 for free was a bonus too. I’ve set up 4 savings pots, it’s been really motivating to set savings goals for each one.

5) I planted a free pack of wildflower seeds that came through the mail. They are already starting to grow. Wonder what they will be when they bloom, whatever they are the bees and butterflies will love them.

  1. Yay! Thank you! 🙂 It’s very motivating to read other’s achievements. I have been doing surveys for a bit now and am currently doing my first product testing. It is so much fun!

    1. I agree I love reading other people’s frugal ideas! It’s great that you already do surveys, market research is very lucrative too if you have the time for it.
