The Sands Resort Cornwall {Review}

This week we have been on a short break to Cornwall, I was lucky enough to win a stay at The Sands Resort from the Parentdish website a few months ago.

I love Cornwell and have spent many lovely holidays there but usually in a caravan. The Sands Resort was such a treat for us as this would be our first holiday as a family of three.

Our journey from home to the resort took about five hours and was really pleasant. Daisy was really good on the journey although some of that was down to endless episodes of Baby Jake and RaRa the Lion.
When we arrived we were so excited to arrive and find that the beach was virtually on the resort’s doorstep! The Sands Resort is perfectly situated for beautiful views and coastal walks.

Our Room

On checking in we were greeted by Martin, one of the managers, who couldn’t have made us feel more welcome. The reception area was beautifully decorated with a super comfy modern look.

Our prize included a stay in one of the family comfort suites, which included a separate bedroom for Daisy to sleep in which was fantastic. We were super impressed with the spacious, super clean room and the amazing sea view through our balcony window (which was safely barred but didn’t spoil the view).

The bed was absolutely huge and very comfortable to sleep in.
Daisy really enjoyed the lounge area, it was so nice to sit on those comfortable armchairs and look out at the ocean view.
The prints in the room all reflected the beautiful beach surroundings of the Cornish coast.

Family Fun

The Sands have an outdoor pool which we didn’t use this time but they also have a fantastic indoor pool which we had all to ourselves at one point. The pool was a good size and ideal for family fun. There is also a steam room for the adults to indulge in after a busy day sightseeing in Cornwall.
There is also a soft play area, children’s club, and a maze, as we only had a weekend to stay and lots to squeeze into our time there we didn’t get to make full use of everything on offer. There is so much to do at the Sands that we could quite happily have stayed a week and not become bored.

Daisy enjoyed playing in the sandpit and park which is right outside the hotel, there is also a huge wooden pirate ship which looked lots of fun.

There are also plenty for older kids to do such as crazy golf, a games room, a bouncy castle, and a zip wire.

Breakfast

Our prize included breakfast on both mornings of our stay which was served buffet style. There was a really good choice of cereals, yogurt & fruit, and a delicious hot cooked selection. The staff at breakfast were so friendly and genuinely seemed to enjoy their jobs, they couldn’t do enough for us.

I just about remembered to take a photo before I ate it all, I also had a side of toast and some delicious black coffee, all the food tasted so fresh.

All in all, we have had a lovely, relaxing family holiday. The hotel is super clean and every single member of staff is friendly, nothing is too much trouble for them.

I would definitely stay at The Sands Resort again, it was a wonderful experience and I thank them for their generosity at providing such a fantastic prize and friendly stay.
