“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” Kahlil Gibran.
Every Monday for the rest of this year I will share with you two photo’s of my children that celebrate their childhood.
Jake
Jake is very excited this week because on Thursday he turns five. I don’t remember him ever being this excited about his birthday before, he’s been counting down the days for ages now. We are having a little tea party at home for him followed by a trip to the cinema at the weekend. He’s chosen hos own birthday cake, he wanted a big chocolate one with five candles on. Jake has had this birthday all planned out since Christmas. Me on the other hand still can’t believe he’s going to be five already, seems like a minute ago that he was born.
Daisy
Daisy will be doing SATS this month but she has absolutely no idea and I think that’s the best way. The school have decided not to tell the kids in her year that they will be tested. I think I would have done much better in my own exams without the stress and worry about taking them. I don’t agree with kids this age taking tests, I believe every child learns at their own pace. As parents it’s easy to tie ourselves in knots worrying if our kids are falling behind, these tests and targets are just so unnecessary I think.

Urgh the dreaded SATS- try to relax and not to over think it. Such an excited smile on your little mans face for his upcoming birthday – bless!
I hope Jake had a wonderful birthday – Troy’s year of being five was pretty fantastic and I hope Jake has a year that is just as amazing! x
Happy Birthday Jake – I hope he had a lovely day. And good luck to Daisy in her SATs – I don’t really agree with them either so I hope our school takes a similar approach when the time comes. #LivingArrows
