Pregnancy Diary – 31 Weeks

I’ve had a little break from blogging the last couple of weeks due to feeling so lousy and fed up, the post I’ve just written on gestational diabetes will explain a little more about this.

Anyway, onwards and upwards, I have decided to change the format of these diary posts as I was finding it a little too structured and it was becoming a bit of a chore to write, so here goes…

Pregnancy and Baby Update

I’m now 31 weeks and feeling like I’m smuggling an ever-expanding beach ball under my top, sleeping comfortably is a distant memory, I use four pillows structured all around me like a little fort.
I also have the most hideous heartburn at nighttime, I wake up with the acid burning my throat, and a couple of spoons of Gaviscon soothes it long enough for me to go back to sleep.
This week I’ve had a tummy bug, luckily not the vomiting kind, this means I’ve not kept up with taking my Iron tablets which might explain some of the extreme tiredness I’ve been feeling.

Tiny Webster is growing ( a little too much) but this is being monitored at the hospital, he’s certainly a healthy little boy giving mummy plenty of kicks, but he is still spending a lot of time quite low down in my pelvis, I’ve been having quite a lot of Braxton hicks contractions and a lot of pelvic pressure which can be a little painful sometimes.

I had to miss my normal midwife check-up this week as I couldn’t be too far from the toilet, I have rearranged for next week.

Other Bits and Bobs

I’ve not had any cravings as such just lately, my eating habits have not been great so I’m going to try really hard to change that in the coming weeks, it’s not good for my diabetes and leaves me feeling dreadful.

I’ve been washing all the baby items we have as a lot have been gifted to us second hand, I’m starting to think about where we need to put things and I’m going to get my hospital bag ready soon just in case.

Here are a few pictures of some things I’ve bought in the last few weeks, I’ve gone way overboard with blankets and I’ve thrown away the receipts (I blame baby brain) so I can’t even return them!

The towels above were an absolute bargain, £5 for the two from Asda, I love that I can order online and collect at my local store for free!

I’m only buying the one pack of dummies for now, I bought loads for Daisy and she never took to them and they are so expensive.

I will be back next week with my 32-week update, thanks for reading and please feel free to leave any questions or comments below.

  1. Oooh how exciting!! I remember it all well though, it's not the most enjoyable experience when you're so uncomfortable!

I went overboard with blanket buying too, I think I have at least 5 still in the packaging lol. They look so cute though, it's hard not to buy them!!!
