Last week on my Facebook feed I noticed a post by Nurturestore challenging people to get involved in Simpleplay month. There are activities every weekday until the 31st of January. I thought it was a great chance to do something fun with Daisy each day with a little prompt from the list of ideas.
I love lists and challenges like this as it can be really easy to run out of ideas or think outside the box when planning things to do with your little ones. Simple play really encourages you to use your imagination and creativity and of course have lots of fun.
Here is what we have done so far.
Water Play
We did some nice simple water play. I added some blue food colouring to the water and added lots of everyday kitchen items. Daisy had so much fun splashing and pouring.
Ice Play
I tipped some heart-shaped ice cubes onto a tray and also froze some cordial in a cup. This is such a simple idea that encourages sensory play.
Den Building
I think this was Daisy’s favourite activity, there are so many possibilities with this activity. It’s easy to find lots of things around the house to build a den with.
We are definitely going to carry on taking part next week. you can find ideas on Nurturestores Facebook or Instagram page.
