What a fun word to be able to use for this week’s word of the week. If you are a fan of the TV show Friends then the word pivot will raise a smile. I chose this word because this week hasn’t gone to plan and we’ve had to pivot.
This week has been half-term for the kids and Chris took the week off work too. I made plans for the week but a broken clutch on Monday afternoon changed them.
I spent Sunday night with my eldest daughter so we could go and visit the charity shops in her village on Monday morning. We had a fantastic time, the charity shops were brilliant, we both got some bargains. It was so lovely to spend some quality time with her.
Chris came to pick me up and it was on the way home that the clutch broke. Thankfully we managed to find a mobile mechanic to fix it but not until Thursday.
Change Of Plans
I had planned to visit my friend on Tuesday for some more charity shopping, luckily we were able to rearrange for Friday morning instead. My eldest son had also planned to visit but as we were supposed to be taking him home we’ve rearranged that for now too.
There’s always a silver lining though I suppose, the change of plans has meant that we’ve got lots of little things done around the house. I’ve also been able to rest a lot more than I thought I would get to this week.
The car is now fixed, although the bill was a little painful. Once it was back on the road we went to the pub and had a delicious meal. Thankfully that bill was a little less as we had a voucher to use that was a Christmas gift. I brought a piece of carrot cake home from their cake away section and it was the size of my head almost.
Plans for this weekend might have to change too as we were due to go out on Sunday but the weather looks awful. Saturday morning looks okay so I think we will go out then instead. Whatever we do I’m sure we will have fun before normal service resumes next week with work and school.
I’m linking up with Anne from Raisie Bay for Word of the Week.
I am sorry. Cars breaking can be so stressful because its never a quick and easy fix. Glad things did work out – they generally do 🙂
I read the word Pivot and thought instantly of Friends. hehehe
It sounds like you had a lovely time with your daughter but what a shame about the clutch. It sounds like it all worked out well with the extra rest and rearranging things.
Oh wow! That slice of carrot cake is huge! x
Despite everything with the car, it sounds like you had a fab week. i learnt the word pivot from playing netball in high school. I wasn’t very good at it though. Thankfully your half-term break was a good one. I thought we would get to see the charity shop finds… I’m nosy like that, lol. Hope you have a great week coming up.
