You might remember that last Summer Daisy reviewed My Fairy Garden-Woodland Fairy Door she absolutely loved it. The kind folks at Interplay UK have sent her one of their new products to review.

The My Fairy Magic Garden Magic Bean Pots are fun and easy to grow. You can choose from either Joy or Hope who are twin fairies. Each one comes with its own little spade, a bird companion and two magic wishing beans for you to plant.

All of The My Fairy Garden products are designed to offer children fun as well as imaginative open-ended play. They allow children to experience the magic of growing real plants.

I got Daisy some compost from the garden, this is the only thing that isn’t included with the set. She had great fun using the little spade to dig a small hole (1-2cm deep) in the pot. Next, she planted the gorgeous little beans in the pot.

After covering the beans up with some more compost she added a little water. We are trying to grow the beans a little earlier than recommended (May-September). We will be keeping it warm in the airing cupboard until germination.

Doing this activity opened up lots of conversations about how plants grow and what we need plants for. I’m a big fan of toys and activities that provide fun and learning at the same time.
