Five Frugal Things I’ve Done This Week {8.10.21}

Every Friday I share five frugal things that I’ve done to save or make money. I believe that a frugal lifestyle is an individual thing and there is no right or wrong way of going about it. From the smallest of savings to the greatest it all adds up and contributes to us living the life that we want for less.

Five Frugal Things

  1. I have been filling every spare moment completing online surveys as my accounts were looking a little bare after cashing out recently. At this rate, I should be able to cash out from them all again before Christmas. I’ve also updated a previous blog post about how to make money from online surveys with a few handy tips which you might find useful.

2. I’ve started buying Christmas presents using all the vouchers and extra money I have made from surveys. I also make sure I use cashback websites and look for discounts and vouchers before I buy anything. Saving money on gifts but still being able to buy nice things for people is my favourite part of being frugal.

3. I have been having leftovers from evening meals for my lunch. Not only does this save on food waste but it also means I don’t have to think or prepare what I’m going to eat each day.

4. My lucky streak with competition prizes has continued this week and I have won five prizes in total. I’ve won some natural dog treats, some ginger ale, a doll, some cleaning products and a year’s subscription to a children’s magazine. The Fortnum & Mason hamper arrived that I mentioned last week, it had some delicious treats inside and the basket will be great to use as storage.

5. I picked up some free garden planters from a local buy nothing group. I’m going to store them in the shed in preparation for some Spring planting. Another pick up from freecycle this week was a bundle of winter hats and gloves for the kids, they are forever misplacing these things so having spares is a really good idea.
