It’s been a tough old week on the parenting front. I’m not sure if it’s had anything to do with the blue moon but my kids have been, how shall I put this, challenging? Indulging in some little loves this week has been much-needed.
Here are my little loves for this week.
Read
I finished Friend Request by Laura Marshall at the weekend, I highly recommend it if you love thrillers. Next on my to-be-read pile was Paper Towns by John Green. I wasn’t sure about this one as I read a John Green book last year and although it was good it wasn’t really page-turning. Paper Towns, however, I’m loving. The characters are likeable and interesting and I’m intrigued to see where it’s going.
Watched
As much as I love Grey’s Anatomy I’ve decided I need a break from it for now. It’s such an emotional show and when you start dreaming about performing cardiothoracic surgery it’s time to switch off for a bit!
This week I also watched the kids in a phonics lesson at school. I loved watching them, school seems like lots more fun than when I was there. It’s also given me lots of ideas of how I can help them at home.
Heard
On Saturday Tracey from The Williams World and I went for breakfast and had a good catch-up. It’s so nice to get together with fellow bloggers and bounce ideas off one another. I was so engrossed in my delicious breakfast and the excellent company that I didn’t take any photos whatsoever.
I’ve been feeling a bit grumpy this week (that wonderful time of the month) so I’ve been listening to George Ezra on Amazon Prime Music. I’m sure his songs have appeared in my little loves before but his music really does make me happy.
Made
I’ve been treating myself to a hot chocolate every morning this week when I’ve got back from the school run. I don’t usually like hot chocolate but I got some Chococino pods for Christmas for my Nescafe Dolce Gusto machine and it taste’s amazing. I’m usually a coffee girl all the way but with the miserable wet and windy weather I’ve made the exception.
Not made by me but worthy of a mention because they were out of this world. I had scrambled eggs with salmon on Saturday morning when I met with Tracey for breakfast. The eggs were so fluffy and came on a slice of toasted brioche bread, seriously dreamy.
Wore
I don’t have anything noteworthy to report this week. I do love wearing my pyjamas if that counts.
And lastly….
Last month I won an afternoon tea and on Sunday my cousin and I will be going to enjoy it. The place looks fantastic, it’s an old converted courthouse. No doubt next week’s little loves will include some photos.
I love John Green and have read all of this books. Turtles All the Way Down, his latest, is my fave.
I am totally with you on the parenting this week, my five year old is driving me up the wall. He was such a sweet boy before he started school but this term he has completely lost his listening ears and causes so many arguments with his siblings, it’s really hard work. I hope next week is kinder to you x
I’ve only read one John Green book – The Fault in Our Stars and really liked it. It must be great to have a blogging friend that you can meet up with to bounce ideas around, wish I had someone closer to me! Congratulations on winning the afternoon tea – have a lovely time! Enjoy your Sunday xx
It’s so nice meeting up with blogging friends isn’t it? Great to talk shop, so to speak, with someone that gets it.
I love a bit of George Ezra too, one of my youngest girl’s favourite songs is Budapest.
Hope you’re having a good week so far xx
