Where To Watch Firework Displays In The North West Of England {2018}

Are you looking for somewhere to celebrate bonfire night this year ? I’ve put together this list of the best places to watch firework displays in the North West of England. Some of the firework displays are completely free to attend, although you might want to take some money for a toffee apple or a spin on the waltzers.

Make sure you check the organisers websites and social media pages before you go for any changes or cancellations.

Chester Fireworks Extravaganza 

Watch a firework extravaganza at Chester Racecourse, there’s a junior display before the main event. There will also be a fairground, food and drink available to purchase and Capital North West presenter Ben Sheppard.

Opening Time: Saturday November 3rd 17.00-21.00

Admission: £5 per person if bought in advance (children 4 and under get in free), tickets will be available to purchase from the gate for £6 per person.

Bonfire Night At The ETIHAD Stadium Manchester

Fireworks display starting at 19.30 and funfair at the Manchester City football ground.

Opening Time: Wednesday October 31st 17.00-21.30.

Heaton Park, Manchester 

Manchester’s biggest bonfire with fireworks and funfair rides.

Opening Time: Monday November 5th 17.30- (bonfire lit at 19.30)

Admission: Free

River Of Light, Liverpool

Fireworks and music on Liverpool’s The Waterfront. This is set to be a busy event, you are advised to arrive from 17.00.

Opening Time: Sunday November 4th from 17.00 (fireworks start at 18.30)

Spark In The Park, St Helens, Sherdley Park

Fireworks and funfair rides. Surrounding car parks open from 17.00 with a £10 parking charge.

Gullivers World Firework Bonanza, Warrington

Have a fun family day out and then enjoy the firework bonanza before heading home.

Opening Times: Saturday November 3rd 10.30-19.30

Admission: £17.95 per person if bought in advance (children under 90cm get in free)

Magical Festival of Art & Light, Lancaster

After dark you can follow the illuminating art trail through the city. The festival concludes with a magical extravaganza of fireworks launched from Lancaster castle on the Saturday evening.

Opening Times: November 3rd, art-trail from 17.30, fireworks 20.00.

Northwich Fire Festival, Verdin Park 

Fireworks, bonfire, funfair, music and delicious hot food all in aid of raising money for various local charities.

Opening Times: 17.30-21.30

Admission: £5 per adults, £2.50 12 and under, tickets available on the gates

Wallasey Firework

Wythenshawe Park Fireworks 

Fireworks, bonfire and funfair.

Opening Times: Monday November 5th, 17.00-21.30 (firework display starts at 19.30)

Admission: Free

Ellesmere Port Firework Extravaganza

Fireworks and funfair at Whitby Park.

Opening Times: Friday November 2nd, gates open at 16.30, firework display starts at 19.30

  1. Reading this makes you realise what great firework displays we have in the North West. Sadly I think we are past watching fireworks now with the kids, but I suppose I can just look out of my window on the 5th November x
