Despite the kids being off school this week has been unexpectedly relaxed. With Chris being at work we didn’t make any plans for the week. I felt like the kids and myself needed a total change from routine and this had led to a very relaxed week. We have woken up without an alarm and enjoyed plenty of lie-ins much to my delight. Our mornings have been slow, which is a welcome change from the busyness we usually experience.
The kids have chosen what activities they wanted to do and have played out in the garden which has been lovely. I chose to work two full days instead of my usual five mornings. It’s definitely not easy trying to work around them, movies and play-doh definitely helped though. The rest of the time I joined them in chilling out which has been just what I needed.
We did venture out to the park on Wednesday to meet friends from school. I really thought the kids would have wanted to do more this week but to my surprise they have happily chilled out. They are both a little under the weather so maybe it’s been just what they needed too.
I’ve had lots of time to read too which is my favourite thing to do at the moment.
Although I do like to keep busy, sometimes it’s nice to take a step back and live at a more relaxed pace. We are all well rested and are looking forward to getting outdoors over the weekend.
