Word Of The Week – Adventures

This week has been a really good one, we’ve had some lovely little adventures with more to come. The kids get just one week off for the Easter holidays so I wanted to make sure we had some fun. Having adventures and making memories together is what family life is all about for me. Even better is the fact that most of the things we have done haven’t cost us a penny.

On Monday the kids and I did 30 minutes of yoga together which was so much fun. We found a kids yoga video on YouTube and followed that, there are so many ways to exercise for free. After lunch we walked to the library and spent about an hour there, choosing books, colouring in and playing with the toys they have. Daisy and Jake wanted to take a longer walk home so we chose the scenic route where they picked dandelion clocks and we spotted some ducks.

Daisy was invited to the cinema on Tuesday morning by her friend from school. While she was gone Jake and I did some Easter crafts and played a game of dominoes and pop up pirate. In the afternoon my cousin took some time off work so she could spend the rest of the day with us. We went to the local museum in our town where they had a free Easter crafts workshop on. The kids made some fluffy sheep using all the materials that the museum provided. We then spent some time looking around the museum where the kids did some jigsaws of ancient Egypt and played a sound game from the cabinet of curiosities. Afterwards my cousin treated the kids to an ice-cream while we drank the best value cappuccino I’ve ever had, it was huge, delicious and only cost £2.20.

On Wednesday and Thursday the kids had fun playing in the garden on their trampoline, bikes and scooters. The weather has been so nice, its felt a little like summer. While they played I caught up on some work and booked some more adventures for us for the next month. We’ve got quite a few things to squeeze in before our holiday so I’m trying to maximise our time and double some things up.

Today we are off to review an adventure golf centre, it looks so good and I just know the kids are going to love it. I really enjoy being busy and getting out and about but I think next week, once the kids are back in school I will be getting some rest to balance it out.

I’m linking up with Anne from Raisie Bay for Word of the Week.

  1. How wonderful to fill your week with adventures. We have another week off school next week so we are hoping to fit in an adventure or two. Preferably without spending too much money so I’m thinking of a National Trust Property. The kids always grown when I suggest it, but they have so much fun when they get there. Have a lovely weekend and thanks for linking to #Wotw

  2. Sounds like a week enjoying little adventures together and even better when most of it is free. It just goes to show that you don’t have to spend lots of money to have fun together. Hope you have a fun time at the adventure golf centre today. #WotW

  3. You have had a packed week. Love the idea of the yoga, and the afternoon out with your cousin must have been lovely. We’ve had great weather to enjoy the garden. Sounds like you’ve got your garden set up to tempt them out. Look forward to hearing about your day at the Adventure golf park. Good day for it. Hope you have a good Easter weekend. #wotw

  4. Hope the adventure golf was fun? It sounds like you have all had a great week, I used to love crafting with the boys but they rarely want to do it anymore although Joe does like to occasionally create on the cricut, how amazing is this weather? Long may it last x

  5. Sounds like a fun week! We love going to the library, my youngest loves looking through all the books x
