Word Of The Week – Easter

This week has been all about preparing to celebrate Easter. The kids are off for the Easter weekend but then back in school until April 5th when they finish for a week. This whole concept of a few four-day weeks is throwing me through a loop. On the plus side it gives me plenty of time to plan fun things for us to do in the holidays.

As my daughter and grandson were visiting on Thursday I planned an early Easter celebration. Complete with lamb roast dinner and an egg hunt. We don’t usually bother with a roast over Easter but I really wanted to make it part of our tradition now the kids are trying new foods.  The egg hunt was lots of fun and all the kids enjoyed it.

To help spread the cost of the celebrations I’ve been popping eggs and little gifts in with my weekly shop. I like to put together a nice little basket of goodies for the kids. This year Daisy wants me to hide her eggs and gifts all over the house for her to find. I’m more than happy to oblige as it sounds like fun.

I’ve also been planning to visit family over the weekend. The weekends so far this year have been incredibly busy. This is the first chance I’ve had to make arrangements for visits. I can’t wait to catch up with everyone.

I’m hoping we can get outside and visit a forest or one of the National Trust properties that are close by over the weekend too. I would love to look for some signs that Spring might finally be on its way.

Hopefully there will be time over the weekend to watch some movies and eat chocolate eggs and hot cross buns too.

Happy Easter !
