Word Of The Week – Ready

This week has been dominated by getting ready for a few things, school, September and the weekend.  I really do think that these past few weeks have flown by and I can’t believe it’s almost time to start a whole new school year. I’m not sure I feel ready at all.

The uniforms have been ironed, labelled and placed in drawers in anticipation of next weeks return to school. PE and school bags are ready for the new term, even the shoes have been shined. I do like to be organised about these things, I’m definitely not a leave things until the last minute type of person.

I’ve also been making plans for myself in September, I’m going to have a lot more hours to work and I want to make sure I make the most of them. It’s going to be very strange having the house to myself all day after a noisy summer. Chris is going to be off work for the first week of the kids going back to school so I have a whole other week to ready myself for the changes.

September looks set to be a busy month, the weekends are already taken up with birthday parties and days out. I spent some time this week with my planner making sure I had scheduled everything. I’m also going to Blog On so I’ve been busy getting myself ready for that. Working out which sessions I want to go to, what I want to get out of it and which brands I want to chat to. Even though I’ve been a few times I still get very nervous about going, I can be quite socially awkward sometimes. I think everyone is probably feeling the same so I try not to let it worry me too much.

I’m more than ready for a new month and season, bring it on.

  1. Glad you’re feeling ready for September – I have most of Sophie’s uniform labelled but still have to buy shoes. How lovely to be looking forward to going to BlogOn – it’s one that I want to go to but haven’t had the opportunity to do so yet. Maybe one day! #WotW

  2. I’ve never heard of BlogOn before Angela, is it something I should look into? 🙂 You’re so on top of things, I hope that means you can relax and enjoy a fun last week of summer with the kids! #WotW

  3. Lots to get ready for. Like you, I don’t like to leave things late so my kids have everything ready for next week. I’m not ready for the holidays to end, the house will definitely be so quiet. Hope you enjoy BlogOn x Thanks for sharing with #WotW

  4. You sound much more ready for next week than I do. I have all the uniform but it is still in the pile to be ironed…it will get done. I don’t want him going to school covered in creases. You seem to have lots to look forward to in September. I don’t think I am ready for Autumn just yet. Hopefully we will get a few more weeks of Sun. #WotW

  5. Awww so nice that you ready for school opening. I still need to iron and label uniforms and I am panicking a bit. #wotw

  6. I have everything ready I think….I do need to go through all the uniform just to be sure…
It does take some getting used to having all the kids at school….I always find it stange for the first few weeks. #WotW

  7. oh Wow, you sound really organised. Let’s just say, it’s a good job my girl’s don’t go back to school until next Thursday.
    Happy September x

  8. You are so organised Angela I have all we need but need to get it all out and sort it. Of course I bought it early as Joe started his new School, if I am honest I am getting panicky about him going back, I dare not write that on my blog in case he reads it!
You will love having all that time to work although I feel at first I waste time as its so quiet, but I am determined to work smarter this autumn x

    1. Aww Sarah it must be so worrying for you, I hope back to school goes smoothly for Joe which I’m sure it will. I want to work smarter too I waste so much time flitting from one thing to another x
