Dough Nab The Game is the new fun, fast-paced and freshly baked family game from Ginger Fox. In this game, you will need a keen eye if you want to win, simply keep an eye on the cards and be the first to nab a doughnut if you see a match. You must watch out for the action cards and Magic doughnuts though, they shake up play! Play all the cards in your hand and clear your dough nab pile to be crowned the Head Baker and get to wear the baker’s hat.

Dough Nab The Game is recommended for players aged 8+ and is suitable for 3-6 players.

The game comes with everything you need to play including:

  • 3 doughnuts
  • Head Baker’s winner’s hat
  • 60 doughnut cards
  • A turn tracker
  • Rules

Setting up the game is super simple, the doughnuts are placed in the centre and each player is dealt ten doughnut cards face down. Each player then takes it, in turn, to place a card in front of themselves to create a delicious dough nab pile. You need to keep your wits about you, spot three cards with the same coloured doughnut then grab the corresponding doughnut.

We did have to read the rules a few times to get our heads around them, especially the meaning of all the special cards. I definitely agree with the suggested age of the game being 8+ as the rules would be a little difficult to understand for younger players. Once we understood them we were good to go.

We love a good competitive game and Dough Nab certainly is that you need to see the match and nab the doughnut before your opponents do.

There were plenty of twists and turns during play, I grabbed the wrong doughnut and ended up with everyone else’s nab pile. Needless to say, I didn’t win that round as my dough nab pile was impossible to clear at the end. If you grab a doughnut when there isn’t a match you can end up with the other players’ dough nab pile too!

I really liked the Special cards like the Magic doughnut cards and the Crumbs cards as they add a little more fun to the game. We had a fun time playing the game as a family but it would also be a great game to get out when friends come round.

What We Loved About Dough Nab The Game

  • The freshly baked puns on the packaging and rules (we love a good pun)
  • How competitive the game is to play
  • The quality of the pieces included ( the doughnuts look good enough to eat)
  • That it’s a great game to play with family or friends
