Jake occasionally takes a break from his construction toys to play with his train tracks and trains. I think his favourite part of playing trains is that he gets to construct the tracks. Bladez Toyz kindly sent Jake a Thomas & Friends Playset to review and he was very excited.
The Thomas & Friends Playset comes with 8 jumbo tile pieces which can be connected and rearranged to build up to 50 different track combinations. It also comes with a motorised Thomas vehicle which can race around the tracks. Thomas also works on flat surfaces too. The playset is perfect for Thomas fans.
The playset is suitable for ages 3+ and retails at £19.99 and is available to buy from the Bladez Toyz website and Argos.
Jake couldn’t wait to get the playset open and start building a track. The Thomas vehicle requires a AAA battery which isn’t included so it was up to Mum to save the day and put one in.
I really like the size and quality of the tile pieces, they were easy enough for Jake to fit into place himself. Another great feature is that the tiles are numbered so it’s easy to follow the track construction suggestions on the box. Jake had great fun designing different tracks for Thomas to race around.
The playset also gave Jake the chance to practice his problem-solving skills. He had to figure out how to coordinate the track so that Thomas didn’t end up racing off the track in the wrong direction.
I like how compact the playset is and how easy it stores away in the box afterwards. It’s a really simple idea but provides lots of fun and learning.
