Every so often I get into a real rut with my hair. I have always had long thick hair and I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with it. This year I’ve been pushing myself out of my comfort zone and trying to experiment a little more. I was recently sent the xtava Twist Curling Wand to review so I thought it was the perfect opportunity to try some different styles. I also have one to giveaway, read to the bottom to find out how to enter.

The xtava Twist Curling Wand has a 38mm ceramic barrel which is perfect for creating beautiful beach waves or curls. The wand has also been designed with a cool tip making styling even easier. It has an LCD digital display and 22 temperature settings to suit your hair type and length. Here are some other fantastic features:

  • 2.7 m 360-degree swivel cord.
  • Heat-resistant glove and travel case.
  • 60-minute automatic sleep mode function.
  • Universal dual voltage.

The curling wand arrived beautifully packaged in a sleek stylish box. Inside I found a travel/storage bag which is heat-resistant and a styling glove which is essential in my opinion. I think the curling wand would make a lovely gift.

I was really impressed with the length of the cord, the wand itself is lightweight but sturdy and really easy to hold with a good grip on the handle. I did find the barrel a little slippy but in the past with other curlers, I’ve found this problem usually resolves itself with a little practice.

The wand takes a little time to reach the set temperature, but this isn’t surprising as the barrel is quite large. The display makes it really easy to set the temperature you need and it shows the current temperature of the wand on the display as it heats up. This takes the guesswork out of knowing when your wand is ready.

I wanted to create a loose relaxed curl as I find that really suits my hair. I usually only curl the bottom third of my hair, if I curl any higher, the curls won’t set due to how heavy my hair is. The Wide barrel is really good for the style I wanted to create.

I really like the way the Xtava Twist Curling Wand can create big beautiful curls in my hair. The quality of the wand itself is brilliant and it’s fantastic value at £20!
