That’s the first week of April done and dusted, and although it started off stressful, it got much better as time went on.

Monday morning didn’t get off to a great start. Jake was poorly, the cat’s health was worrying me, and Chris still wasn’t fit enough to return to work. A trip to the vets put my mind at ease a little about the cat, and in the afternoon, I went to Jake’s parents’ evening where he got a glowing report.
In the early evening, the kids and I decided to build my new bird table. I don’t think we did a bad job although chris did have to adjust some of the screws.

Tuesday was a work day, so the only photo I took was of Indie and me. She likes to come for a fuss and a cuddle when I take a break from working.

I had a few errands to run on Wednesday, so I popped into one of my favourite charity shops while I was passing. They had lots of craft and stationery items in today, I picked up two mixed packs of ephemera for scrapbooking for only £2 per bag, which was a bargain.

I spent Thursday doing some spring cleaning and sorting. With the better weather finally here, it was time to swap out my wardrobe, pack all the jumpers away and get my spring/summer clothes out.

On Friday, I finally found some beautiful magnolias to take a photo of. I have a list of things I want to take a photo of each season this year, and this was at the top of the list for spring.

I spent some time in the garden on Saturday, tidying up and mowing the lawn. This year, I want to make the garden more wildlife-friendly, so I couldn’t resist picking this bee house up when I saw it in B&M. It’s on the fence above where the geranium grows, which the bees love, so hopefully, it’s in a prime spot for them to use.

On Sunday morning, the kids and I went to Bolton Museum. They have an aquarium downstairs, which was good; we saw some stingrays and pirannas and lots of other interesting fish. Upstairs, they have a large Egyptian exhibit with one room made to look like the inside of a tomb. Although we enjoyed the visit, I don’t think we would go back to this one again.
Daisy has finished school for the Easter holidays but Jake is still in until Thursday so the rest of the day has been spent doing the usual set up for the week ahead.

I love your magnolia tree, I really want one for home but I don’t have room for it.
Well done on building the bird table, it probably would have fallen apart if I had done it LOL
Shame about the museum. Our local one is tiny, but quite often has some good extra exhibitions. Your stationery haul reminded me I had a wholeload of craft stuff to declutter and take to our local craft secondhand shop. I love magnolia too – there are some stunning trees near us, it’s just a shame they don’t last very long before the wind blows all the petals off
Your birdhouse looks lovely and you got some great crafting stuff. The magnolias are beautiful! #MMBC
I am glad your week got better as it went on.
The bird table looks fab. I’ve not been brave enought to swap out my wardrobe yet. I don’t want to tempt fate.
The museum sounds like a fab day out. x
I love your spring flowers and am very impressed with your bird table. I have never been handy with tools. #MMBC
Glad Jake is feeling better again. The bird table looks good. Love your charity shop haul. Those magnolias are beautiful. Love the bee house. Bolton Museum sounds interesting. Hope you are having a good Easter break. #project365
Well done to Jake with his parents evening. I didn’t think it would be possible to combine two of my favourite things, an aquarium and Egyptian artefacts. I’d love a visit.
