“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” Kahlil Gibran.
Every Monday for the rest of this year I will share with you two photo’s of my children that celebrate their childhood.
Jake
Jake got an archery set for his birthday and I think it’s his favourite present ever. He spent so much time practising his aim and was thrilled when he finally got a bullseye. I love the look of concentration on his face in this photo.
Daisy
I picked up some new books from the charity shop this weekend and Daisy has wasted no time reading them. This weekend she’s raced through two full chapter books and has started a third. I’ve bought her some books for our holiday that were on her wish list, she’s dying to read them but they are safely tucked away in her hand luggage.

Aww look at little Jake concentrating – so cute! I hope my Daisy loves books too x
I’m sure she will, I’ve found having books in every room really helps to encourage a love of reading x
Ahh! The look on Jake’s face is fantastic. So much concentration.
Daisy looks so engrossed in her book. It’s a wonderful thing to see x
I love watching them enjoying whatever they are doing, I’m always trying to secretly snap those moments x
Fabulous photos. Both look totally engrossed in their activities!
Thank you, they do really love getting engrossed in what they are doing x
Troy got an archery set about a year ago too and loves it so much – it’s such a random present but one that kids seem to love. I hope he had a wonderful birthday x
He loves it and it’s so good for strengthening his coordination too x
Aww, it sounds like they’ve both been doing things they love this week. I really hope my boys grow up to love reading as much as I did when I was young (and still do). #LivingArrows
It can be trickier to interest boys in reading I find a good range of reading materials like comics and factual books really help x
I bet the archery set is great fun well done Jake on the bullseye. Hope you have a lovely time away and that your daughter enjoys her new books. X
Thank you, the archery set has still been a favourite throughout this week too x
Archery sets are great fun. Got one for my youngest a few years ago. It still gets picked up and played with. Glad Daisy is enjoying her chapter books. You’re definitely bringing up a book worm there. #MMBC
