Five Frugal Things I’ve Done This Week {14.1.22}

Every Friday I share five frugal things that I’ve done to save or make money. I believe that a frugal lifestyle is an individual thing and there is no right or wrong way of going about it. From the smallest of savings to the greatest it all adds up and contributes to us living the life that we want for less.

Five Frugal Things

1)  After a sort out at the weekend we made £200 from selling items in our home that we were no longer using. I’m not a great fan of selling on the Facebook marketplace there are so many timewasters but this time it went well. We paid the money straight into our account using the post office so there was no temptation to spend it.

2) I used the Shopmium app to get some free and reduced-price fizzy drinks. These are useful for my husband to take to work with him. I haven’t been using the shopping apps as much lately as stock levels have been an issue when I’ve been into the different stores.

3) I have been busy applying for lots of different market research projects as I really enjoyed the ones I took part in last year. I’m already booked onto three very different projects which I’m excited about. This year I want to focus on higher-paying earning opportunities to make the most of my time. While I still enjoy doing surveys I’m much pickier about the ones I will spend my time on.

4) We’ve been making meals from what we already have in our freezers and cupboards. Doing this once a month ensures nothing is wasted and extra money isn’t spent unnecessarily. There are always some interesting and questionable meals when we do this which is actually a lot of fun.

5) The kids earned some extra pocket money this week by taking part in a taste test task for one of the research companies I’m signed up with. I love that my family like to get involved in my efforts to earn some extra money.
