Five Frugal Things I’ve Done This Week {29.10.21}

Every Friday I share five frugal things that I’ve done to save or make money. I believe that a frugal lifestyle is an individual thing and there is no right or wrong way of going about it. From the smallest of savings to the greatest it all adds up and contributes to us living the life that we want for less.

Five Frugal Things

  1. The kids have been on the first week of their half-term break so we have been doing some budget-friendly activities to keep them entertained. We went to a local park that has the most beautiful colour trees this time of year, the kids loved crunching and kicking through the Autumn leaves. Later on, in the week, I printed out some free Halloween colouring and activity sheets for them. Sometimes the simple things really are the best.

Thanks to some prizes that I won we were also able to bake a delicious chocolate cake and make some gourmet popcorn too.

2. My husband really wanted to see the new Dune film at the cinema so I claimed my monthly free Odeon ticket from the O2 priority app. I will also pack him a few snacks to save even more money.

3. The last week in every month I try to base my meal plan around the things we already have to hand. This week’s meals have been a real mismatch of things but delicious nonetheless. I love the challenge of thinking up meals and of course wasting absolutely nothing.

4. As I mentioned above it’s been another good week of prize wins. I won a family ticket for a Pumpkin Festival this weekend at a local farm, some cake mixes and a gourmet popcorn kit. I also received a lovely prize from Teapigs to celebrate their 15th birthday, the limited edition pancake tea is delicious.

5.  I’ve completed lots of surveys this week and taken part in an online focus group to make some extra money.
