Five Frugal Things I’ve Done This Week {5.8.22}

Every Friday I share five frugal things I’ve done to save or make money. I believe that a frugal lifestyle is an individual thing and there is no right or wrong way of going about it. From the smallest of savings to the greatest, it all adds up and contributes to living the life we want for less.

Five Frugal Things

1 ) If you have Amazon Prime you can choose a free kindle book for free from a selection at the start of each month. There are always some good thriller titles which are my favourite genre so I chose one of those.

2) Gousto have had so many good offers and discounts over the years but I had never quite been tempted to subscribe. When I saw a referral for a totally free box this week I clicked through. I chose a large box of four meals for four people totally free and it even came with a free wooden spoon. The meals made enough to feed us all and have some leftovers for my lunch.

3) On Sunday morning we ate breakfast for free thanks to a prize win. I won a breakfast buffet for four which included tea and coffee.

4) The prizes keep on coming. I won a £250 voucher to spend on school uniforms from Trutex. This prize came at the perfect time and has saved me a lot of money.

5) Every morning I’ve been portioning out snacks into baskets for the kids. I decided this summer holidays I wanted to avoid being asked for snacks constantly. I bought two baskets for each kid to hold their daily allowance. It’s working really well and I’m convinced it’s saving me money as it’s easier to track what we actually need to buy.
